2020.09.15 05:34 AnselaJonla [PI] There's a manticore (lion with bat wings and scorpion tail) on your front lawn.

I rub my eyes and stare for a few seconds. Then I pinch myself. Okay, that hurt. This isn't a dream. There really is a freaking manticore on my lawn. An honest to Echidna manticore on my lawn, leathery wings sprawled across the grass.
Higher creatures are usually pretty good at avoiding human areas, meaning the average person will never even get a glimpse of them. Dragons are the exceptions, with the giant attention hogs frequently landing on parks and school playing fields in order to get the adoration they believe is their Echidna-given right.
I take another look at the manticore on my lawn. It looks... wrong, somehow. The wings are crooked, and that dark green patch on the grass is the wrong side to be the manticore's shadow.
Great, I have an injured manticore on my lawn.
I call the RSPCA, but the lines are all engaged. I could try again, but... what if the manticore is really badly injured. It must be, to have taken refuge in a human area. They're really not fond of us, after all. They only stopped hunting humans, legend says, because it was ordered by Echidna herself. She foresaw the destruction of her children if peace was not made, and so she brokered one enforced by her divine will.
I grab my first aid kit and a couple of towels and slip out of the front door, using my leg to stop my Staffie from following me. She's a loyal little beast, but dumb as a box of rocks and given to protectiveness. I don't want her needlessly antagonising a higher creature, especially one that could crush her with a single paw.
She could probably crush me with said paw, to be honest. Manticores are at least twice as large as the lions that they share their basic shape with, and I'd estimate this one is even bigger than that. Her eyes track me as I walk slowly towards her, and that sting-tipped tail twitches menacingly. She doesn't lift it though, so I kneel down next to her.
I don't know what's made the wound in her side, but it is massive. Bigger than my head, and still bleeding sluggishly. I definitely don't have a plaster big enough for this. It's probably going to take most of my bottle of wound disinfectant just to clean it off. And I only restocked my first aid kit yesterday, damnit.
I search for the right words in my mind. I don't think dumping a bottle of TCP on this injury would lead to me living much longer. It does tend to sting a little bit, especially when undiluted like this will be. No one ever teaches you how to speak to a manticore though, but they're said to be as proud as dragons and I know how to speak to them.
"Madam Manticore, I need to clean this wound. The liquid will cause you some pain, but it is necessary to stop the wound from festering."
The tail flicks upwards and stops behind my neck, and the manticore raises her head and fixes me with one great, unblinking eye. I can feel her judging me, looking down into my very soul, and I don't dare look away. I just know that to do so means instant death.
Eventually she lays her head back down, and her tail returns to rest. I gulp and reach up to pour the liquid on. I see a curtain flicker out of the corner of my eye, and know that my neighbours have started to take notice of what is happening. Not one of them will have the guts to come out and offer their assistance. Definitely not the piece of shit at number 12, who has previously expressed his opinion that all creatures, both higher and lower, should be exterminated.
Having this beautiful lady here is probably his worst nightmare. And she is beautiful, even wounded. Her fur is soft, where it's not matted with ichor, her wings have subtle patterns across the leathery membranes, and the tail is a dark, gleaming red.
A small moue of pain escapes from the manticore as I carefully pour the antiseptic liquid over the wound, making sure to get it all over the cut, until it runs clear. As the dried ichor washes from the edge, I can see that it's a very ragged wound, and deeper in some parts than others. I think one of my towels might cover it, if I use all of the medical tape on the roll to hold it onto her fur. Will medical tape stick to fur? The vet always shaves wherever he works on Zara. I don't think I'd get away with shaving a manticore's fur.
"It was a male, young one," she says, making me jump. I wasn't expecting her to speak. Manticores rarely waste words on humans. "I refused his advances, and he attacked me for it."
I scowl. "That's horrible."
"It is. Had his sire taught him manners, his body would not lie broken on a hillside, his life wasted before it had fully begun." She shifts uneasily. "And I would not be here, among humans who hate and fear my kind."
"I don't hate you," I blurt out before I can stop myself. Contradicting a higher creature, great idea.
"If you did, then you would not still live," she rumbles, amusement tinging her tone. "You fear me though. That is wise, you are defenceless against me, even as injured as I am. Yet you are courageous, to approach despite that fear."
I can hear sirens approaching. The high pitched tones of police, the deeper tones of fire, and the unique scream of the Creatures Division. Someone called 999 then. At least I tried the RSPCA first.
My visitor lifts her head again, looking to the sky. "Assistance comes," she says. Before I can ask what she means, a shadow crosses the sun, and the slow beat of wings fills the air.
A dragon delicately sets down in the road, somehow fitting between the parked cars on both sides of the street. The insignia of the Creature Division has been painted onto each of its shoulders and its chest. I gape at the sight.
"Show off lizards. Some of them work with humans for the attention," my visitor explains in a soft voice. She raises it to speak again. "Buzz off firehead, I'm not causing any problems."
"You are alarming people with your mere presence. Your kind don't usually consent to mix with humans," the dragon replied, his voice like gravel.
"I crashed here after being injured. I'll leave once I'm fit." She tries to gain her feet, but flops back down. "However long that takes."
"Hmph." The dragon carefully steps closer and looks at my visitor properly. "That right wing is clearly broken. How you got here from the Peak District colony is beyond me. You cannot stay here until it heals."
"It wasn't broken until I landed, you overgrown lizard." She flicks her left wing a couple of times. "And I fail to see why I cannot remain here."
"Because this is a human residential area, and your kind are not known for... amicable relations. You would not liked being gawped at by every human child within walking distance."
She snarls and her tails raises, quivering angrily. "Human adoration is not solely reserved for your kind either, dragon. If I wish to remain here, then remain here I will, whether children come to visit or not."
A puff of smoke escapes from the dragon's snout. "And what will you do for food. This human, as brave as she is, cannot possibly provide for your needs. You probably eat as much in a day as she does in an entire week, and all of that meat."
I feel hands pulling me away from the burgeoning argument. The human element of the Creature Division have arrived. My visitor roars and swipes at them in warning.
"Do not treat my host with such rudeness and rough handling. She will remain if she wishes, you will not remove her against her will." She turns back to the dragon. "And nor will you remove me against mine. I, Lenora, declare it so."
The dragon grumbles and rumbles again. "Echidna preserve me from stubborn felines." He looks directly in my direction. "Since cat-brain refuses to move, she'll have to stay here. A creature-specialist vet will come by soon, and someone will be in contact with details on where to obtain food for her.
He chuckles, a small jet of flame flicking out. "Congratulations, you've been adopted by a manticore. Good luck."

2020.09.14 23:41 f0ster91 My List of Best Fall Cheapies

Since fall is right around the corner, and is my favorite season and time of year to wear certain things, I figure I'd make a list of cheapies I've found over the years that are pretty top notch for fall and for the price.
Halston Z-14: Brilliant cypress and cinnamon bomb. Super cheap that can be applied pretty liberally but doesn't really have performance issues despite being an EDC. Smells much more expensive than it is, and is reminiscent of masculine power houses from the 70's without smelling dated; it is often referenced as the scent that inspired the famous Italian Cypress, and it still smells great even 40 years since it's release.
Halloween Man/Shot/X: The whole Halloween man line is pretty phenomenal for what you pay. Neither of them smell cheap or synthetic, and all of them have really decent performance despite the low price. The original is often referred to as a 1 Million clone, being a pretty big cinnamon bomb in the opening. Balances out with boozy and leather notes. Shot is a spicy, boozy iris fragrance often compared to other fall big hitters like Valentino Uomo or LNDL. X... X is it's own beast. This stuff is so unique and beautiful, that I believe if you told people it was a niche fragrance they'd believe you. I would've payed easily multiples of what I got it for. It's a combination of whiskey, coffee, leather, tonka, cinnamon.. a really spicy masculine scent on a backbone of a concrete accord that is said to invoke feelings of walking a New York City downtown street on a weekend night.
Azzaro Pour Homme Intense: If you're a fan of the original Azzaro, you'll love this. It's spicer, boozy, and has great performance. It ran it's own way from the original, but the DNA is still in the background. Imagine slight nuances of the original's lavender, anise, and leather, but in the background of a forefront of cognac, amber, and cinnamon. Very masculine, sexy, and would be perfect for someone with a bit of hair on their chest.
Zara Unexpected, Fresh, Spicy: People often call Rich, Warm, Addictive Zara's flagship scent.. but honestly, this one blows it out of the water. People have associated it with all sorts of other similar fragrances from Tobacco Vanille, to Oajan, One Million Prive, and others, so you can get an idea of what it's going for. I love it, as it has so many of my favorite notes, cinnamon, tobacco, whiskey, vanilla, patchouli... and is super masculine and sexy. The downside of course is Zara's infamous inability to create a fragrance that lasts passed the point you actually release the atomizer. Gorgeous, but gone in a fleeting instant. Would be in my top 10 fragrances of all time honestly if it had any sort of real performance; but for 20 bucks it's worth having on your shelf just to enjoy.
There are more great ones, but I tried to keep out the super well-known and uber talked about ones like CK Shock, the Encre Noir Line, Guerlain L'hhomme Ideal EDP, etc. Feel free to add your favorites, I might even check them out myself.

2020.09.13 23:53 Sighnomore88 100k Giveaway/Hijabi (modest fashion) Streetwear

Mood Board
So this mood board is centred around hijabi/modest fashion. But it’s not only for the hijabis. In the words of Trinidad James: [this is also for the]...”Hipster bitches that shop at Lenox, dark skinned, light skinned, Asian and white women.” Yes, to inclusivity!!!
Brief background: I’m a former hijabi. Born Muslim (East African) but started wearing hijab @ 21. Wore it straight for like 5 years. Took it off for a couple years. And nowadays for Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated reasons I’m back to being a turbanista. And a sometime, part-time, hijabi.
👆🏽Me trying to be a high vibrational person and not smack a random auntie who asks my why I was wearing a scarf at the shop the other day and not one right now.
Anyways, I build my entire mood board/outfit inspo around one rep. The chanel WOC in gold hardware. I own a Chanel WOC in silver (that’s what I’m reviewing) but I switched it up on my mood board cause I just think gold hardware is really popping with this fit.
And I don’t even like yellow gold. Chanel caviar + gold hardware just gives me Emily Gilmore old lady teas~! No shade. Emily Gilmore is a bad bih. A personal role model and I know we all have no choice but to STAN her. I just prefer WG/Silver hardware. Because I think it’s more versatile and younger.
Y’all can’t tell me this outfit doesn’t slap???? IDC. IDC. In this? I’m stunting on the ukhties (sisters) and my enemies. All eleven of them. Last but not least, shout out to the Muslim rep ladies we outchere!
Outfit details:
Nike Air Max 97 Off-White Elemental Rose Serena "Queen"
MONCLER Caille Giubbotto Jacket
Zara Mom Fit Jeans (current season)
Oak+Fort White Sweatshirt
Veiled Collection Chiffon Hijab (black)
Mini Review: - Item - Chanel WOC in Caviar leather with silver hardware - Seller - TS Bank - Factory- Wenfa - Price -120-12% (rep-lady discount circa May 2019)+ 25(EMS shipping) = 130$ USD Picture
Speaking of chains. The chain is my favourite part of this bag. It’s super nice and weighty. Never tangles even though I keep the chain tucked into the bag when I store it. In the summer in direct sunlight it sparkles beautifully. The hardware including the chain hasn’t chipped or change colour at all. And I’ve had this bag since summer of 2019 and used it on many occasions.
In terms of accuracy. Some further considerations: The front pocket lining is burgundy, and not black. According to the innumerable Chanel WOC reviews on here it is black in the authentic. The Chanel logo inside the bag is a bit too thin on this rep. And the placement of the back pocket is slightly off. It slants downwards to the right.
***Sorry for any grammar or punctuation mistakes. I wrote this up on my phone as I’m currently out dipping it 'n' doing it like Wendy would say.

Soul of Tyre Ep. 7
With the Shar'kai aid to the cause against the enemy, the party must now decide on political decisions that affect their alliance (They will decide the Shar'kai involvement in the Living World). Firstly, the party learns the Ash Elves culture so that they can make an informed decision on what they should do with the Shar'kai. They learn that these people value strength the highest and follow a strict code. If a Shar'kai were to fail a mission, they would scar themselves to remember their incompetence. Shar'kai are also extremely religious to Aladine who is in the Blue Pantheon. The god of the Shar'kai teaches that only the strong should live and life and death go two sides of the same coin. EldaShar'kai is a savage place and its people have adapted to it hence why this race value strength so much. Shar'kai children are first put in a battle royale to gain the right to grow. The kids are then drowned in the rivers and resuscitated to teach the the thin line between life and death. Lastly, adolescences are given a scar so that they can serve their "Ael" (It means knight). All Shar'kai extremely value water and are thought to give their water to travelers; one of the few acts of generosity the Shar'kai do. After the party hears all of this, they decide to open the Shar'kai to only the factions of Hikari, Night Guard, Bard's College, and the Last Grove. The ash elves offer their services of guards and training station to Camp Last Stand but the party decides to get Azalon's opinion about this before acting. Lastly, the Shar'kai wants to send an envoy to Kalkatesh and ask the party which capital they should go first. The party answer that they should first visit Khao, the flying city.
After the decision are put in place, Kallous comes to the party to offer political marriages. In Shar'kai culture, for two people to form a union, they must defeat each other at least once in a trial (As in the spouse must have at least one loss and one win against the other). The trial can be of anything such as combat, intelligence, or sport. Those who never beat their spouse will become low priests of Aladine. Kallous offers that they can decide which trial they want to do and he will find a noble willing to participate. Gruff and Belanovan step up and ask to get married. Gruff goes first and decide that he wants to have a noodlin' competition. Kally Dal Ael, the Mistress of Famine, approaches Gruff and they go to the rivers. The two will take turns to go into the three river and they will noodle as many eels as they can in a certain area. If one eel passes by them, the trial is over and the person with the most noodled eels wins. Gruff goes in first and the first eel approaches. He noodles it with ease but the eels spines impale into his body intoxicating him. Little did Kally know, Gruff is normally drunk when he noodles. Gruff noodles a total of eight eels before getting too drunk and falls into the river as an eel pass. Gruff is taken out of the river and Kally is next. She cast a wall of earth and it easily catches all the eels. However, being wet and smashed drunk, Gruff is in peak condition. He flexes and Kally is aroused; she loses her concentration and the wall disappears. Gruff has won the trial and both of them immediately prepare for the wedding. Belanovan is next and he chooses a test of speed. Ano Sokia Kai, the Triselsior Ranger, takes the call and tells Belanovan that they will run around the Cathedral; the first person who finishes wins. The two set up at the starting line and they take off. Even with the 360 ft movement speed, Belanovan is easily outpaced by Ano and he comes in dead last. However, Ano has taken a liking towards Belanovan and challenge him in archery. They will both take turns shooting at targets; the first person to hit three targets win. Belanovan accepts and the two partake in the competition. It is neck and neck with each having hit two targets; Ano takes her shot but, in some sort of miracle, the ranger misses the target for the first time in her career. Belanovan hits the third target and wins. Since both of them have loss against each other, Belanovan joins Gruff as both of them prepare for their wedding.
In the audience, Moe watches as the two bachelors get hitched. The Minotaur flips a coin and it lands on the side where he gets married. Moe steps up and ask Kallous to have a power word competition. After hearing Moe's request, Kallous finds the right person.
Arcadum: "I have good news and I have potentially upsetting news. The good news is that you have found a potent mate. The bad news is all four of these individuals (Kallous and his council) kneel."
Vinnidinci Vaskael Valakain Beatorix Mateslayer, one of the three most powerful beings in EldaShar'kai, stands before Moe. The last champion of Aladine speaks to Moe that she hasn't been approached in a long time as she puts her scythe on the ground and it breaks the surrounding marble. Braktor, realizing the situation Moe is in, grabs a parchment of power words that he was saving to have a teaching moment with Moe and gives it to him to cram into his mind as fast as he can. Vinnidinci summons a red mist around them which, similar to the Red Star, prevents the exhaustion of power usage and both of them prepare for battle. She starts off with with a volley of single powers words expecting that Moe would not handle it but he counters the words with his own. Vinnidinci is now interested as she finally meets a foe that can stand before her and she begins to speak sentences of power words. Although Moe hasn't chained power words in his career yet, he opens his third eye and create his own sentence of powers words; it clashes with Vinnidinci's attack. The thrice born commends Moe and the marking of Jhasa appears on her as she chants her next power words. Moe taps into his hand maiden and Dialos appears behind him. He eloquently chants his power words ending with the power word of the red star "Annareth". The red light starts to swirl and Vinnidinci goes ecstatic. She joins Moe's power words and the two enter the Chant of Unmaking. Both of them give all their might as their souls clash with one another. The chant ends and Moe lies on the ground with four levels of exhaustion while Vinnidinci stands unscathed except for a mere cut on her cheek. She smiles and accepts Moe's hand in marriage.

The party meets with Valloween and warns them about her pursuers. She laughs and explains that she isn't worried about death since Valloween is so close to it as she points at the well. Zacharius asks what the well is and Valloween explains that it is a portal to the Shadowfale. Arcidamus explains how the Shadowfale is one of the planes of existence and that the Empress promised to the seven to repair the Faewild which was destroyed during the Great Reckoning. Valloween then questions why the Inquisition would want her safe and theorize that the organization might want something from her later or it is Kalla'jin who wants her safe. Valloween advise that the best form of protection is to move her to another location. The problem is that she has many important experiments she is working on in her estate that would easily break during travel. However, if Valloween can get Master Robe, she can use the Heavenly Path and safely move all her fragile experiments. Valloween asks the party to grab on of the Master Robes in the monastery nearby so that she can gain access to the Heavenly Path. Koordrin asks why Valloween even broke her oath in the first place and she explains her backstory. Valloween used to be in the Faewild but migrated to Kalkatesh. She became interested in combining things when she grew envious seeing the Krazakian King marry the Empress of the Shadowfale. That is when Valloween became a Chimeraist. However, in becoming a Chimeraist, one must provide serivce to the Hags. Valloween made a oath to Babylon that she could leave her service to the Hags only if she would defile religious symbols with Babylon symbols. Valloween grew tired of doing this so she cut her hand off which had the symbol of her oath and replaced it with something else. As the party prepares to go to the monastery, Zacharius summons the boys (Wise Guy, Tommy Two-hands, and Handyman) to protect him. The boys assure Zacharius that they will get the job done and the party sets off into the mountains.
During their journey on the mountain pass, the wind grows strong and the snow thickens. In the low visibility, Mirage notices light in the wind. As she goes closer to the light, Mirage finds a frozen women in the forest. Arcidamus notices that the women is alive and covered in a thin layer of ice. Nox realize that the women is from the Viaken. Arcidamus uses sacred flame to melt the ice on her while the party tries to set up camp. Koordrin sets up a small fire while Mirage uses her wings to protect the party from the wind. The party gathers closely together and since Nox is cold-blooded, she begins to fall asleep from the low temperatures. Eventually, Arcidamus manages to melt off the ice and Vindicator Igrid, a Valkyrie, speaks. However, she speaks in a language that they don't understand. They try to use other tongues until Koordrin and Igrid are able to talk to each other using the languages of the giants. She casts a shield around party warming them up. Igrid then explains that she was sent by Odin to scout the mountains for it has been rumored that giants still roam in the area. During her flight, Igrid was struck down by a violet wizard with twin wands (Los from Secret in the Stones) and as she froze, Igrid saw the wizard throw a seed to the west. The Valkyrie then speaks that a sacred place to Valhalla was defiled. They reach an agreement that Valhalla for her is the Hall of Heroes for them. Nox finally warms up and catches up on the situation. The party asks if Igrid have a Heavenly Path and she recognize a similar path but they are different since her path is in the waking realm while the Heavenly Path they are looking for is in the dream realm. Igrid warns the party to speak carefully and be wary of the violet. After the conversation, the Valkyrie flys away for Odin is calling her back. The party continues their journey and reach the monetary.
The arrive at the entrance and see that the violet has corrupted the site. Mirage finds a red scarf hanging from a tree and she hears the familiar laughter. Mirage goes furious as she realize that the man in red is here. The symbols of the monastery is covered in violet ash with empty robes scattered every where. The party enters the area and screams of her sisters enter Mirage's mind. Zacharius takes Mirage's hand and she calms down. They hear whispers of a man calling for a master from the center room. Nox sees that the door leading to that room has a symbol of a violet hand. Koordrin opens the door to the west and finds a Master's robe covered in violet dust. He shakes off the dust and puts the robe in his pack. The screams of Mirage's sister suddenly stop and the area is now eerily silent. Nox enters to the room in the north to find a lounge. Arcidamus notices that one of the books in the bookshelf is corrupted by the violet light. Eventually, Koordrin opens the central room and find the Cacophonic Collective (Violet Servant from Broken Bonds) standing in front of the man in red. Ricardo eyes glows a violet light and Mirage predatory senses activate. Suddenly, the Siren begins to weep black tears pooling in her hand as shadows form in it. "Father Wode sends his regards". The Cacophonic Collective snaps its fingers and Ricardo ascends in violet light.

Death and Debts Ep. 5
The party prepares to head out after meeting with Sad Derick and find their culprit. Revlis gives Derick a seed he got from the Laughing Mad and ask what he is. Derick answers that her seed is a blood seed that has to be planted in a corpse; when grown, it will produce "eternal youth". The party leaves and find out that they have no idea where they are going. Zara goes back to Derick and picks him up but Derick says to be put down and he will still guide the party. Umi mentions something about nipples which scares Derick and he attempts to run away. However, Terryn persuades Derick to not run and still help them. Umi asks if Derick knows anybody who knows the language of the Trident and he leads the party to a certain part of the sewers. He summons Diagos, the fifth demon. Although irritated at first, Diagos gaze adverts to Umi and he speaks Aquain to her as it strokes her cheek (The conversation was in Spanish so I no idea what they said). The fifth demon then speaks in common and ask Umi what she needs help with. Umi tells Diagos that they need to find the culprit and Diagos asks for a lock of hair in exchange. The party mentions Pulkpickle and Diagos foregoes the payment. It points the direction and warns the party that the culprit is stronger than they think.
Derick guides the party as far as he can until he must part since he does not enjoy violence. He warns that the path ahead is filled with traps and to watch their step. The party then moves forward with detecting traps and a wall spike is set off. Terryn and Madeleine are impaled and heavily injured. The two drink potions of healing and Umi heals them before they continue their journey. They party literally walks a few yards and suddenly, Zara throws Revlis into the sewer water. Unfortunately, Revlis entry into the body of water attracts unfriendly attention. Zara and Umi quickly get Revlis out before a crocodile attempts to attack them but hits the wall. They flee from the area hoping to avert combat with the beast. The party travels towards another part and they encounter a green ooze. Madeleine tries to shoot an arrow at the ooze but it misses and combat has initiated. As the ooze is damaged, the creature would divide with itself creating more ooze beings. Umi goes down as she takes an attack of opportunity from one of the oozes. Luckily, the rest of the party manages to defeat the rest of the oozes and save Umi from death.

Disclaimer: I probably missed or misinterpreted a lot important lore so just comment down below anything I didn't get. I'm also not a writer but I just really wanted to talk about the sessions so please forgive me for any grammatical mistakes or odd wording. Writing names are hard too so please help me with any misspelling that I do as well.
Thanks for reading.

2020.09.11 09:18 MikasaMilkTea ☆.。.:* a collective taobao haul with reviews and pics! .。.:*☆

I usually use Taobao to purchase the odd rep, thrifted vintage items, a lot of unbranded things and...lots of random things (as you might see from the stickers...and bedding). However, hope you still enjoy these TB finds!
In case you missed it, I also have a google sheets spreadsheet with (almost) all the taobao things I've bought (with links + reviews) since starting to use taobao around 3-4 years ago with reviews and links, which I still update here!
These were over 3 hauls, which I use Taobao direct sea shipping for. Average time from consolidation was around 2 months (honestly, I forgot about some of them, ordered some of these things back in april probably) and shipping to Australia is usually $12 for the first kg and then +$2 for additional kgs up to a max of 20kg (sometimes bigger items, like the acrylic storage and sandals is measured in cubic weight instead of actual weight, so is read as heavier than it actually is). For my next haul I'm going to try and buy some masks as we're running out and hope it doesn't get seized ):
it's a long one, hope you enjoy! <3 (whilst my bank account continues to cry)
for sizing, usually an AU8-10 in tops and bottoms, and I'm around 165cm tall

For Love and Lemons Cher Houndstooth Cardigan
My Pics WTC Auth
Price: ¥178 / 36AUD, M
• Quality: 10/10: Super soft and comfortable to wear! It's a pretty thick, stretchy and substantial material - not thin or flimsy at all. The ribbed cuffs also feel slightly thicker than the rest of the cardigan, and I couldn't find any loose threads or stitching.
• Accuracy: 8/10: I haven't seen the real one in person, but looking at it (and based off another RepLadies' review) It seems very accurate! The colour, mismatched houndstooth print on both the front and back looks accurate to the auth, the furry fabric and texture seems right and so does the ribbing and length - even the buttons look right! (-1) as the tags are not branded/accurate, and (-1) for no composition tag/care tag (so I'm not sure if the material is correct)
• Satisfaction: 10/10: I love it so much! Now considering if I should get the matching cropped tank top even though I know I probably won't wear it besides with the cardigan...

Doc Marten Gryphon Sandals
My Pics WTC Auth
Price: ¥318 / 64AUD, 39
• Quality: 10/10: I usually have a really hard time finding sandals that fit, are comfortable and that I like due to my flat, narrow feet and fallen arches. These sandals are surprisingly comfier than I thought, but may need a few wears for them to get really comfy. They feel quite weighty - definitely heavier than other sandals that I own - but given the material and style the weight feels substantial and right. There seems to be a bump at the back of the sandals which may bother me, but I'll probably just stick a gel heel grip there.
• Accuracy: 8.5/10: I also haven't seen them in person, but the branding on the soles, buttons and heel pull tab seem right, and the soles are transparent-ish like some pics (see this auth link). Unsure if the made in thailand is right as I looked at 5 sites and it didn't state where the auths were made. (0.5 ?) as I think the edges of the sandal are more rough/textured than the pics I saw on multiple sites and (-1) because I'm a bit confused on the material. I believe the auth gryphons come in both a leather and vegan leather upper. The tag that came attached to the sandals say they're made of vegan leather, the listing says 头层牛皮 which I believe means cow leather upper and I think the shoes smell like leather ?? But honestly not a big deal to me, because who's going to be looking at the sole of your shoes and sniffing them to see if they're real leather?
I also think they may have poked 2 more holes in the middle strap (win for me, so I don't have to poke my own, but now I have to poke my own on the ankle.
• Satisfaction: 10/10: I'm usually an AUS womens 7, EU 39 and US womens 8-8.5 in most shoes, and the 39 fits perfectly! I love them so much and I'm excited to wear them out and figure out different ways to style them!

Budget "Hermes Kelly" Style Bag
My Pics WTC
Price: ¥142 / 28.5AUD (now ¥177), Milkshake White Silver Buckle, 20cm
• Quality: 8/10: Considering I bought this bag to try out the style, I quite like it! I believe it's leather as it smells like leather when I go really close (not a strong scent though) and doesn't feel as hard as my other PU bags. There is a mark on the inside bottom of the bag, some darker spots on some of the silver hardware and an orange ?? thing on one of the inner seams, but none of it is noticeable unless I'm really looking for it. Comes with a "rodeo bag charm" and a "twilly" too.
• Accuracy: ?/10: Not branded. Skipping the accuracy part because to be honest, I have no clue as I've never seen an authentic Hermes bag in real life/know them well enough to point out details. I thought I'd just take as detailed photos as I can for others who know their bags more to determine accuracy. (although I don't suspect it'll be that high for the price, probably a 1/10)
• Satisfaction: 8/10: Since I did buy it without accuracy being of importance to me (mainly because I liked the style and wanted a white bag), I quite like it! It fits all my essentials without making them hard to access, and the size doesn't look too big on me! The only thing is the strap is a bit too short for me to wear as a crossbody as it comes up quite high, even on the longest adjustment. Won't stop me from wearing it though!

Straight leg "mopping" high waisted jeans
My Pics WTC
Price: ¥119 / 24AUD, Size 28 in blue
• Quality: 10/10: The material is a nice and lightweight, comfortable material, perfect for spring and summer! It does have a little bit of stretch and is accurate to the size chart.
• Satisfaction: 10/10: Love these! Have already been wearing them a lot! (at home and on grocery runs)

Solid Colour Cotton sweatshirt
My Pics WTC
Price: ¥79 / 16AUD, XL in blue and black (already own green in L)
• Quality: 10/10: the sweatshirt itself is so nice! I love how it's a nice, thick, good quality cotton with a soft, terry feeling on the inside - almost feels like the champion reverse weave sweatshirts. I also love the cuffs, they're super stretchy and there's something about how the sleeves look when the cuffs sit around my wrists?? They don't look too tight around my wrists but they also don't just dangle off my hands. The colours are also really nice!
• Satisfaction: 8/10: Although they're amazing quality, (-2) for inconsistent sizing. I previously bought the plain green one in L about a year ago and it was much smaller than the size chart. Thought this time, I'd size up to XL as the L was a good fit, but not as loose as I'd like. Turns out, even though it's the same listing, they are more accurate to the size chart now (as in not 10-15cm smaller in the bust like my green one), but the sizing is still inconsistent - the blue is almost like a sweater dress on me, but the black one is slightly shorter and smaller despite both being XL. However, considering the price and quality, it doesn't stop me using these as sleeping/at home sweaters, or even cropping it for a better silhouette. Will I buy the pink and beige ones they just came out with? Probably.

Various earrings and necklaces from the same store
My Pics of all jewellery WTC (knot earrings, heart earrings cherry earrings (link I bought from is sold out, here is the new listing, it should be same item), gold coin necklace, heart locket necklace)
Price: ¥39-59 / 8-12AUD for earrings, ¥59 / 12AUD for necklaces
• Quality: 10/10: They're all of different weights (necklaces + knot earrings feel much heavier, cherry ones in between and heart ones lightweight and dainty), but they all feel very good! All claim to be gold plated brass/metal alloys, and so far I haven't gotten any allergic reactions to any of the earrings (which I usually get to non-sterling silvegold). The necklaces are nice and weighty, and the heart locket does open up! (although I have nothing to put in it LOL)
• Satisfaction: 9/10: Felt like the knot earrings were much heavier and yellow-gold than I expected them to be? (I'm usually a silver > gold gal but wanted to try out some gold jewellery) Might also be because I feel like they're too long to suit myself, but everything else I love so much! Especially the cherry earrings - they're so adorable and I'll definitely get a lot of wear from them!

Small heart stud earrings of "pearls"
Pics (see above) WTC
Price: ¥33 / 7AUD
• Quality: 10/10: These are really cute, dainty and a bit different from your average stud! Also didn't get any reactions to these even after a few days of wear, and they seemed to last fine after a few showers too.
• Satisfaction: 9/10: For some reason I thought that yes studs = comfortable enough to wear all the time and sleep in but for some reason these are really uncomfortable to sleep in? Even some of my dangly earrings (like the cherry ones above) were more comfortable to sleep in. They're still really cute though and I'll definitely wear them often!

Dainty Silver necklace with "clasp pendant" ?
Pics (see above) WTC
Price: ¥94 / 19AUD
• Quality: 10/10: Really good quality, nice and shiny silver that looks cute on! Will have to see how it goes with more wear + sweat/showering though.
• Satisfaction: 10/10: Love it!
• edit: found out this is a hermes dupe, or should I say "inspired style" since the materials aren't the same? thank you u/JSchecter11 for pointing this out! (:

Thin leather belts
My Pics WTC: black with silver hardware, brown with gold hardware
Price: ¥28-29 / $5.5-5.8AUD
• Quality: 10/10: Saw this kind of belt on a few posts (was looking there for style inspo on how else to wear that "business casual" but make it not so formal style) and these feel good quality! Smell like leather (sorry that's my only indication of whether it's leather or not) and the metal feels weighty and not flimsy at all. Has an adjustment at the back that doesn't slip and slide around easily.
• Satisfaction: 10/10: I love these! Would definitely buy more if I needed more belts (which I don't HAHA)

Acrylic Earring/Makeup Brush Storage
My Pics WTC: makeup brush storage with lid + other drawers, 4 earring doors + 2 drawers
Price: ¥29 / 9.5AUD, ¥47 / 12AUD
• Quality: 8/10: Feels just as good quality as the acrylic storages you get at muji, are nice and clear and shiny too! (-1) as when I pull out the earring doors they don't fit snugly and straight, they fall on an angle (even without the jewellery on it) and it almost feels like they door will slip out. (-0.5) Not sure if you can tell (I tried to capture it) but for all the earring doors, there's this line ?? coming out from each one. I don't think they're cracks as they don't budge, so might just be part of it. Also (-0.5) because they had a weird smell, which I just sprayed with a bit of perfume to get rid of.
• Satisfaction: 10/10: Love these so much! Shipping was on the pricier side as they came cushioned with foam and air bags in a big box, but still cheaper than trying to find the same one on ebay (most were around $40 AUD).

Other random things (pics of some of them)

Bonus !! Some vintage finds (with store links)
• Quality: 10/10: They often do smell "old" with that thrift store smell, but nothing a handwash can't fix! I love shopping vintage on taobao as I can usually find really good quality items for a good price and these aren't an exception! The cashmere cardigans and sweaters are super soft and warm, one is even an old Japanese uniqlo one (so better quality than the current ones that go for ~120AUD!) Some I just have to resew one or two buttons on (not a big deal for me) and are a little itchy, which I fix by handwashing with wool wash and adding a bit of conditioner and letting it soak.
• Satisfaction: 10/10: It's also nice that they all have individual measurements so I can know exactly how they fit, give or take a few cms (like the pants being slightly shorter than I expected). It does make my wardrobe turn more and more grandma-y, but at this point, I'm embracing it and telling myself "I'm not a young adult dressing like a grandma, it's Japanese vintage style".

Other things have bought and are on their way
White puff sleeve embroidered crop top
White button up shirt with embroidered daisies
&other stories cropped mohair blend cardigan
cos brown corduroy pants
Zara yellow square neck cropped tank
Zara beige button up maxi shirt dress
Handmade space planet/star ? dangly earrings
Handmade heart/bow earrings with a dried rose (store mentioned by another replady!)
Plain khaki baseball cap and a beige baseball cap with an embroidered crocodile detail that I just thought was cute (one of those "they look so similar yet so different that I need both" kinda situations)
Various pastel/beige coloured scrunchies in different textures from the same store (1, 2, 3)
I'd link things that are currently in my cart but...they're mostly character cookie cutters (LMAO), masks, drip coffee/tea filters and various cotton beige trucker jackets as I try and find THE one that I really want.

2020.09.09 08:42 dsmithcc Italian Cruisers - yay or nay

Ok so now that many of us have had time in these what are your thoughts.
My thoughts on them aren't great to say the least, to start while pre patch most people picked sansonetti as the "best" commander because he kind of had sap shells, I cannot disagree with this more now, subtle manipulations aka walmart sap shells are terrible, in the zara (t6) I'm getting over pens everywhere, earlier had a match with t7 dd's, overpens, cruisers I'm also getting overpens, if I get overpens on dd's and cl's than what is the point of these, and -90% time to detonation sounds like allot but I'd argue I'm getting just as many if not more overpens than on other cruisers...this needs to be heavily tweaked imo or just add sap.
Ok with that out of the way mimbelli is by far the best commander for this line atm, his base is awesome, and I'm not insane is very very nice, unfortunately torps are the way to use these cls atm and honestly they can be very fun, that skill will give u 8 kts more speed while lowering detection by 200m, these things are very stealthy, sansonettis skills is pointless with these atm so it's all the more reason to go with mimbelli, -40% is allot of range but the stealth makes it worth it imo.
But overall these ships are very underwhelming and I don't see much of a point to playing them compared to other cruisers that are actually unique and do things better than these, I know this is a game too but one problem ive found is the Zara there isn't even a catapult launcher so when u launch the plane just comes off the bow, it's quite comical but also detracting. Honestly at this point I'm starting to think wg rushed these out and released them before they were finished and or properly thought out...same with the commanders.
Honestly I'm sure some of u are getting tired of hearing this at this point but I really think they need sap shells, it would actually give me a point to play them over other cls just like when eop was unique to Russian cruisers it gave me a reason to play those...unfortunately since this patch I haven't played a Russian cruiser once, instead of balancing like "this" (making stuff similar...aka the easy rout) you guys need to make lines unique to give us a point to play it otherwise we can just pick a 1 or 2 lines and be content, make ships unique again and balance overtime via data and feedback not by making things simple and similar.
This is all my opinion so maybe your experience is different if so I'd like to hear it.

2020.09.07 20:24 BrotherFluffy Trouble in Toulon, Chapter Three

Welcome back to Trouble in Toulon! Help is on the way, but will it get there in time? Is this all a cunning ruse? Will the Commander find out what a gateau is? As always, you can read it on Fanfiction here and view my other works here. Enjoy!

It was surprisingly active for three in the morning, with support staff and kansen rushing about, some barely dressed or half-dressed at all. I chalked that up to the incoming attack and continued to closely follow Dunkerque. I was just now beginning to truly earn some small measure of trust with her, and I wouldn’t want to squander it because I was absent-mindedly staring at random people. Fortunately, we didn’t have much further to go before Dunkerque opened a door and ushered me in.
The radio room was filled with all manner of electronic equipment and monitoring systems, the manjuu dutifully sorting and managing any signals coming into or out of Toulon. My beautiful host led me to an empty station and gestured to the waiting microphone. “If you’ll give the signal, please,” she instructed.
I nodded curtly to her and stepped up to the station, unable to keep the grin from my face. After quickly checking to make sure that I was broadcasting an open frequency and in all directions, I lifted the microphone to my lips and declared, “Vive la Orthodoxy.” After I confirmed that the signal had been sent, I shut the station down and looked over to see Dunkerque staring at me in stunned surprise.
“That’s it?” She asked incredulously. “That’s the entire signal? No codes, no preselected frequencies?”
I grinned and shook my head. “Nope. We were worried about the Iron Blood listening in, for one thing, and didn’t want to disclose the fleet’s location by sending a directed signal, for another. Not to mention if negotiations took too long, or our timing was off and we were already engaged, we needed something quick, easy, and able to get out from any device capable of reaching them.”
Dunkerque shook her head and chuckled; a low, musical sound. “Unbelievable. So, what happens next? How will we know they received it?”
I sighed and shrugged. This was the one part of the plan I didn’t really care for. “We wait. They’re to maintain radio silence until within range of Toulon, at which point they’ll give us a visual signal and then open up a channel on what Richelieu called ‘Frequency Macaron’?”
Her laugh was sudden and surprising, but genuine and warm. “Ah, Richelieu,” she sighed happily, “I see you haven’t forgotten…”
“I can’t help but feel like I’m missing something here,” I quipped.
“It’s an in-joke between us,” she explained. “If we make it through this, I’ll explain it later. In the meantime, we’ll have a better chance of catching this ‘visual signal’ of yours on the roof. If you’ll follow me, Amiral.”
The shrill cry of air raid sirens had begun to sound by the time we got to the roof, and the streets were packed with people scrambling for emergency shelters. As I watched them run, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt at putting them through this pre-dawn panic.
It also must have shown on my face, as Dunkerque said, unprompted, “Do not trouble yourself, Amiral. If you were right, then you will have saved their lives and their freedoms.”
I turned to face her, somewhat surprised to hear the compassion in her voice and see it on her face. Of course, I should have known better after all the stories. “And if I’m wrong?” I asked with a sad, wry smile.
Some of that compassion faded. “Then you will have a very long time to think about wasting everyone’s time.”
My smile died as I shrugged and looked out over the harbor which had now gone dark, the ships now illuminated only by the light of the moon. “I still may.”
“We can...discuss the terms of your surrender once this is all over,” Dunkerque offered, which I took to be a good sign. “I suspect much will have changed from the status quo in the next few hours…”
“Indeed,” I agreed. “And I doubt there’s going to be much time left for any sort of in-depth negotiations in the immediate future.”
“Quite so.” We fell silent for a moment before Dunkerque spoke up again. “What can you tell me about these ‘Pawns’?”
A surge of surprise ran through me and I looked over at the silver-haired kansen, my eyebrow raised. “You didn’t read the file?”
“Of course I did!” She shot back, indignant for a moment before it gave way to something else, something more...vulnerable. “I just...I wanted to know if everything in that report was correct.”
It took me a second to realize what that vulnerable look was all about. Then it clicked. “You mean Shokaku’s report, don’t you?” She nodded, and my heart sank as I realized I was about to confirm her worst fears. “Yeah, it’s correct,” I sighed. “We don’t have a lot of verification, given the small number of kansen who were used as Pawns themselves, rather than templates, but we made sure to cross-reference and corroborate as much as possible.”
“What’s the difference?”
“Templates, as the name implies, are just copied so that the Sirens can construct the Pawn facsimiles. A template doesn’t need to be held or imprisoned or anything like that once the process is complete. We’ve run into Pawns of our own kansen a few times, and it’s a disturbing experience. Captured kansen who are converted into Pawns…” I trailed off, not wanting to go into full detail. “Well, you’ve read the report.”
A shiver ran through her, and she wrapped her arms around herself as she stared out at the report. “I won’t allow that to happen to me,” she whispered, her voice barely audible above the din below us. “I would sooner die before I become an abomination like that.”
I came up beside her and gently placed my hand on her arm. “I know. And believe me, none of us want to see that happen to any of you. It’s exactly why we’re here.”
Dunkerque looked down at my hand, then over at me, a snowy eyebrow raised. “Even though we’re your enemy?”
I let out a long sigh and stared out at the water, feeling the conflicted, often frustrated emotions rising to the surface again. “You are, but you aren’t,” I began. “We may be on opposite sides, but we have the same goals. We both want to restore the Iris Orthodoxy, we just have different ways of going about it. And as I said, this is compounded by the actions at Mers-el-Kabir, which have poisoned the well, so to speak.”
“That is putting it mildly,” she scoffed. “The Royal Navy wouldn’t take us at our word and tried to lead us away to disarmament as if we were some vanquished foe. If our own allies cannot trust us, then they do not deserve to be our allies any longer.”
“I agree. And I will tell you that it is a decision that the Royal Navy profoundly regrets every day. If they could take it all back and do it over again, I promise you they would.”
She brushed my hand away with her own and shook her head. “You will pardon me if I don’t take you at your word.”
“Of course,” I demurred, clasping my hands behind my back as we stared out at the darkened harbor. “Once someone’s broken your trust, it’s not an easy thing to restore. All you can do is try to make amends and hope that things work out for the best. That you have done enough to earn that trust back. Or at least, earned your chance to be trusted.”
“And do you feel the Azur Lane has done enough?”
I chuckled at the question and shrugged. “Considering my life and my freedom hangs on the answer to that question, I’m afraid any answer I give you will be supremely self-serving. For that, I would perhaps ask yourself what your heart tells you to do? Or what God would want you to do?”
“I should take this on faith, then?” she asked, an inquisitive tone in her voice.
My mind flashed back to earlier tonight, to the last thing Richelieu said to me. “Yes, I suppose so. It’s funny, Cardinal Richelieu asked the same thing of me earlier tonight.”
She glanced over at me, her eyebrow raised once more. “How is that funny?”
“I’m not terribly big on faith,” I answered. “I prefer to trust in what I know, what I can see, and verify.”
“And yet,” she said softly, “you are here solely on faith.”
“The irony has not escaped me,” I replied dryly, unable to keep a bemused smirk from my face. “Besides, I didn’t have any other options.”
“Yes, you did.”
Her answer surprised me. “What?”
“You had plenty of options,” she repeated. “You could have very easily left us to our fate, or sent this information to us via diplomatic channels. Or had it relayed to us via Le Terrible. But you didn’t.”
“I didn’t think you would believe us,” I admitted. “That the trust between us had become so damaged that even with the hard evidence, you still wouldn’t listen. To get your attention, to get you to truly listen, a grand gesture had to be made. So I made a…”
“A leap of faith,” she finished for me, a gentle smile playing across her lips. Even in the dim light of the breaking dawn, she looked radiant.
Those pink irises stared into me for a long moment before she finally spoke up. “You may not be from the Orthodoxy, Amiral,” she beamed, “but you certainly have our spirit at heart. Perhaps you can learn to have a little more faith in time.”
“Perhaps,” I replied. “Let’s see how this leap of faith is rewarded, first.”
“Very well.”
An awkward silence descended, and I quickly spoke up again to dispel it. “So, what exactly is the story behind this whole ‘Frequency Macaron’ thing?”
“Oh, that,” she giggled. “We were doing a training exercise, and I was supposed to be coordinating it from the operations room downstairs. But there was a delay in getting started, so I decided to make some macarons for when they came back. I grabbed a portable radio set like this one,” she gestured to the small box sitting on the ledge beside us, “and got to work. Well, when they finally got everything sorted on their end, I had the macrons in the oven. I was assigning radio frequencies when I realized they were still in there, and rather than give Richelieu the actual frequency, I cried out ‘Frequency-oh, no, the macarons!’”
She laughed, and I couldn’t help but laugh with her. “Oh no! Were you able to save the macarons?”
“I was,” she nodded. “Just barely, but I managed to coordinate the exercise and have a fresh batch ready for them just in time.”
“Good. As I said, to hear the other kansen talk of your sweets, they sound heavenly delicious. Speaking of, you never did let me know what a gat-” My question was cut short by the sound of fireworks going off near the harbor entrance. From where we stood, we could see three kansen firing off a single firework. The leftmost was blue, the center white, and the one on the right was red, although it was harder to see them as the sky continued to lighten with the coming dawn. “That’s the signal,” I said, gesturing to the radio. “Should be able to reach them on the radio now.”
Dunkerque nodded, and tentatively raised the microphone to her lips. Her mouth opened and shut a few times as her voice faltered, choked with emotion. Eventually, she found it, and in a somewhat raspy tone, said, “ that you out there, Cardinal?”
The radio crackled for a half-second before Richelieu’s voice cut through it. “Oui, mes ami. It’s good to hear your voice again, Dunkerque.”
“A-and yours, Richelieu.” It was hard to tell in the dim light, but I thought I could see tears streaming down the battlecruiser’s cheeks.
“We’re here to help in any way we can. Is the Commandant with you?”
There was a momentary look of confusion on Dunkerque’s face before she realized who Richelieu meant. “The Amiral?”
Oui. Is he there?”
“Right beside me,” she answered and held the microphone out to me.
“Morning, Cardinal,” I said as nonchalantly as I could muster. “Nice to see you again.”
Even over the distortion of the radio, I could hear the admonishing tone in her voice. “I told you to have faith, mon Commandant.”
I could feel Dunkerque’s eyes boring in on me and did my best not to look over at her. “Yeah, well, let’s see how things shake out before we start calling this a win for faith. Did you guys see anything odd on your way in?”
“Warspite and I picked up something on radar, and Ark Royal’s sending a plane to investigate” she confirmed. “We suspect it’s the Sardegnians looking to bottle up the harbor.”
“Understood. As per our agreement, you’ll be taking orders from Dunkerque for the duration of the battle.” I went to hand over the microphone back to the silver-haired kansen, who’s eyes were the size of dinner plates as she shook her head emphatically.
Non, I cannot!” she protested. “I am but a simple Templar Knight, I cannot command the Cardinal!”
“You’re going to have to do just that,” I shot back. “Neither she nor I have been here in years, and we don’t know Toulon half as good as you do. You’re the base commander, and as such, the defense of it is on your shoulders. I’m willing to help recommend which kansen to what position, but you have to be the one calling the shots.”
We continued to stare at each other, each resolute in our opinions, but in the end, Dunkerque’s stubborn resistance gave way to logic and reason. She sighed and took the microphone from me. “Cardinal, this is Dunkerque, commandant of Toulon. How’s your shore bombardment?”
“I can put shots within 100 meters of the target if you can mark it for me,” Richelieu answered.
“Good.” She lowered the microphone and looked over at me. “Who else would you recommend to support our troops?”
I didn’t even need a second to think about it before answering. “Bearn, for starters. She can provide close air support with her Loire dive bombers, and also mark targets for Richelieu. Won’t have to worry as much about friendly fire, either. Probably Saint Louis, too. She can provide some fire support as well with her heavier guns.”
“Very well,” she nodded and lifted the microphone to her lips. “Richelieu, you and Saint Louis will provide artillery support with Gascogne and me. I am sending Algerie, La Galissonaire, Le Malin, Tartu, and Vaquelin to meet up with the rest of your fleet. Their objective is to drive off the Sardegnian fleet if possible, destroy if necessary. Algerie will be in overall command.”
I couldn’t help but marvel at the way she went from frightened girl to powerful leader in mere seconds, being able to see the vulnerable, sweet Dunkerque and the fierce warrior everyone said she was. I would have liked to see more, but we were all out of time. Gunfire erupted from somewhere to the north, followed by the distinct thump of artillery pieces firing. Before either of us could dive for cover or make our way off the roof, a shell came screaming in, passing through the floor just below me before detonating, caving in the corner of the building I was standing on. Dunkerque reached out for me, and I for her, as I felt the ground beneath my feet give way, but we were too far from each other. I heard her cry out my name as I fell to what I thought was my doom.
It must have been my lucky day, as there was an awning over the first floor of the building across the street, and my fall carried me through it, slowing me down just enough to avoid any kind of serious injury. I’d have one hell of a bruise come tomorrow, though, assuming I survived this. I coughed and sputtered as I tried to catch my breath, faintly hearing Dunkerque’s cries over the explosions. “Amiral! Amiral Holland, are you alright?”
I got to my feet and staggered to the pile of rubble, looking up to find her peering down at me. I waved up at her and shouted up, “I’ll be alright. Knocked the wind out of me and I’ll be sore tomorrow, but I’m fit to fight.”
Even from three stories down, her relief was palpable. “Thank God! I thought I’d lost you! We’re moving HQ to my ship, can you make it there?”
A quick check of the streets showed them to be relatively free and clear and I gave her a thumbs up. “As long as we can keep the enemy out of the base, should be able to find it.”
Bon chance, mon ami!” She called down. “See you shortly!” I watched her disappear from the roof before getting my bearings and setting out towards the docks.
I darted across empty streets, sheltering briefly in doorways whenever I heard the whistle of a falling shell before running to the next bit of cover. I could hear the heavier thunder of Richelieu’s guns, backed up by the much faster firing of Saint Louis’. Bearn’s LN.401 dive bombers roared overhead, escorted by Martlets as they headed north. The waves of aircraft were proving to be a good touchstone-if they were headed north, then I wanted to head towards where they came from and I should make it to the docks. After that, all I had to do was find a way across to the Dunkerque and assist her with the defense of Toulon.
Assuming I survived the shelling, that is. Every few seconds, I would hear the horrible whistling sound of a falling shell and prayed that it’s true that you never hear the one that gets you. After a few minutes, I did notice the volume of fire dropping off, which seemed to coincide with Bearn’s flights. Shame I was missing it. But if my calculations had been right, I should be right at the docks once I rounded this corner.
I was. Toulon harbor was right in front of me. Unfortunately, so was a kansen. I stopped, not immediately recognizing the girl’s rigging. As she began advancing on me, I took a few tentative steps back. Had the Sardegnians broken through our lines? The shipgirl took a few more steps forward, her hand on her sword hilt, but not drawn yet. Those last steps took her out of the shadow of the buildings and into the morning light, and that’s when I saw it for what it was. A Pawn.
Modeled after Zara, the Sardegnian cruiser, it looked just like her in every way. The only true giveaway was her blank expression and cold, dead eyes. It cocked its head slightly as it tried to ascertain just what sort of threat I may present to it. I didn’t plan on sticking around long enough to let it recognize who I was and bolted for the nearest building. With any luck, I could lose her inside and make it to Dunkerque, or at least, within shouting range for some backup. That luck seemed to have been all used up in surviving that fall earlier, as the Pawn easily overtook me and grabbed me, pulling me into a chokehold. I could barely breathe, and I could hear my blood thundering in my ears as I struggled, kicked, and otherwise fought in vain. Rage and despair threatened to overwhelm me as I almost couldn’t believe this was happening. I was this close to victory. I had managed, against all odds, to put it all on blind faith and come out on top, and now I’m about to be the Sirens’ playtoy because of one stupid Pawn! It wasn’t fair, dammit!
As I raged against fate and my captor began to drag me back towards the water, we were interrupted by a strong, powerful voice. “Release him. Now.”
We both turned to see Dunkerque standing there, her eyes blazing with righteous fury, her sword held in her outstretched arm, pointed directly at the Pawn. “I said release him, Zara, and go back to Sardegna. You and your Iron Blood ilk are no longer welcome here.”
Pawn,” I managed to gasp out before the creature began squeezing its arm tighter around my throat. Recognition flashed in my savior’s eyes and she wasted no time, dashing towards both of us, sword aloft for a killing strike. The Pawn threw me aside as it drew its own saber, blocking Dunkerque’s attack just in the nick of time. I slowly got back on my feet, gasping for breath as I watched the Vichya kansen duel the Sardegnian Pawn. The sound of clashing steel rang out across the water as the two crossed swords, a strange counterpoint to the booming guns. Her blade a flash of steel in the morning sun, Dunkerque kept pressing home her attacks mercilessly, not giving the Pawn time to do anything beyond deflecting the blows. And while the Zara Pawn was good, but it was no match for a true kansen. Dunkerque made a cunning feint, and when the Pawn moved to block, she ran it through with her sword. The soulless automaton went limp, slowly sliding off the Templar’s blade until it collapsed into a heap on the ground.
Remember what I said about not hearing the one that gets you? Well, just I was about to praise her swordsmanship and ask if she was okay, without warning, the ground behind me erupted in a massive explosion that knocked me off my feet. Never heard the whistling sound. One moment I was standing up, thinking I was safe at last, the next I was tumbling end over end until I was looking up at the sky. I felt my consciousness rapidly fading, and just before it left me, the last errant thought that ran through it was that I was going to die not knowing what a gateau was…
A/N-Poor Commander, will he ever find out what a gateau is? Up next week: The aftermath and the real work begins.

2020.09.07 17:10 Colour_riot (Self Encouragement) 7 things I did right

I've been feeling rather down lately over the amount of stuff I've accumulated over the years that are in brand new or really good condition, and they won't move in the secondhand market. We're talking dresses and lotions & potions that can run up to a few hundred dollars each (although mostly not so expensive), and things that I've owned from 6 years ago. My bag collection (which I had proudly reduced to ~10 or so, over a few years - excluding a free backpack and duffel bag from work) is also starting to creep up.
This is just a post to remind myself that I did do somethings well in the last couple of months:
  1. I bought some skincare and then the exact same product went on sale several times... and I did not try to "average down" the price of an average unit, having learnt by now that skincare takes forever to use and expires! This is coming from a girl who bought 2 exact same gowns because it went on sale for $40 cheaper right after I bought it. I've worn neither and managed to sell neither lol
  2. I bought a few bottles of a certain type of supplement recently, but I had wanted to try them for 2 years. I did my research and was still on the fence as I felt that the cost-benefit didn't add up. I finally bought these on sale. Also, for 3 months and counting, I've had the discipline to actually take my supplements. I used to just buy them as a fantasy that I would take them and have great health and hair and skin but not even finish a single pack (you know there's a problem when you find your dad trying to finish Japanese collagen powder because you bought 4 tubs and never opened any and they're all about to expire)
  3. I react alot to "sale". And so when a favourite skincare line had a very nice 1 for 1 for their bestseller anti aging products, I (28F) was going to buy something for extremely mature women, just because "sale". I agonized about this and postponed the buying decision for a week, and finally managed to convince myself that I do not need that, even if it might work for me.
  4. Actually, despite alot of my favourite skincare lines going on sale recently, I have resisted at least 50% of the time and, for the rest, tried to really suss out the products that I know fill a current void in my routine / need.
  5. I'm getting alot faster and better at identifying things that don't work for me and putting them up for sale ASAP.
  6. I love jewelry, particularly pearls (they're probably the more affordable non-costume jewelry category). One of my favourite sellers had a massive sale and I wanted this necklace so bad (particularly because 2 years ago, I missed out on something similar). But I refrained because I would have to buy it sight unseen, and that meant a close to $1,000 commitment for me that I could not return and had no idea whether I liked. OTOH, I bought another pair of pearls that I really wanted for years, secondhand, at a much better price than brand new. Waited and they came to me!
  7. For the past 2 years, I've really been reducing the amount of stuff I buy new. I can't remember the last time I bought anything from the likes of Zara (I think probably 2017). Whilst buying secondhand comes with its own problems, I realised that buying new is when I tend to buy alot more. Simply because stores give you more options at a single time and make them more accessible. My secondhand purchases end up being more considered, even though there are some misses. So over the past few months, I've resisted alot of Grana and Everlane sales.
I'm not the kind of person who can cold turkey anything, nor am I in dire need of doing so (financially healthy), so I've been easing into no/less buy it by tracking things bought and sold over the past year, and more recently, tracking my spending by month. It highlights patterns and areas that I have issues with.
My ultimate goal is to reduce things to the point that I'm happy with what I have in my life, and anything that I choose to add is carefully considered and adds value. However, I don't expect to get there anytime soon, because I think the reason why I have too much unused things in the first place is because I haven't figured out what really works for me - especially wrt skincare and clothes - and that bit needs to be solved first.

2020.09.04 09:26 liv832 Subtle Flexes/Streetwear for Autumn/Winter - Reviews of Everything I've bought from DHGate, AE and TB Recently!

Hey gals, I've been on this subreddit for a while but this is my first time posting! I just wanted to share what I've bought from Taobao/AliExpress/DHGate over the last few months.
These are fairly subtle flexes as I graduated from uni last year so people I know would totally call me out if I started wearing head-to-toe Chanel all of a sudden. I'm around 5'7 and usually wear a UK 10, 34C, although I am gifted with a thicc butt so sometimes wear size 12 bottoms.
I buy from AliExpress and DHGate using their mobile apps and all of the TB stuff was bought in a big haul via Wegobuy. Considering covid-related delays, I was so surprised than nothing took more than 2-3 weeks to arrive!
Also please excuse the creases in the pics I can only apologise for being too lazy to iron!
AliExpress (all free AliExpress Standard Shipping, 3 weeks)
Zara Dress - M - Tangada Official Store [WTC] [My pics] [Auth - link dead]
Cute Floral Dress - L - Bazaleas Dreamy Store [WTC] [My pics]
Crop Top (maybe Reformation?) - L - Bazaleas Dreamy Store [WTC] [My pics]
I used Wegobuy to purchase the following items in one haul. The parcel was 2,544g total which ended up costing 292 CNY (approx £32) to ship to the UK. Ordered 4th Aug, shipped via GD-EUB on 7th Aug and arrived 13th August (so fast!).
Service/Communication: 9/10 [PSPs I received] -super impressed with the service, my agent added pictures and shipped everything promptly. I didn't have to message about anything, so can't really comment on their communication, but they were really good at emailing me each time an item arrived at the warehouse. I requested all of the extra packaging to be removed to reduce the weight and avoid being flagged by customs, I had no issues and this gave me a bit of peace of mind. Wegobuy is a bit complicated at first (-1), but you get used to it eventually (with the help of repladies guides).

2020.09.03 13:37 weasellyone [REVIEW] Stuart Weitzman Lowland Boots in black suede from TS Zippy

Disclosures: No discounts or incentives provided, Zippy asked if I would review on here given I was pleased with the boots.
Bought from: TS Zippy, whatsapp: +86 155 7564 5337
My photos. Includes some modshots comparing overall shape to an old and well worn pair of auth boots in the nero plonge stretch leather but note there are some differences (piped rim around sides, stitching) which afaik largely just reflect differences in the style. Discussed below.
Factory: Photos, link to them in his yupoo: . I don’t know what factory these are. Possibly not the same factory as the one in the album because I’m a bigfoot size?
Link to auth (Harrods) (Stuart Weitzman)
Price and payment method: 145USD boots + 39 shipping = 184 USD, I paid through paypal F&F (£2.99 fee)
Shipping cost and carrier: 39USD, EMS to the UK. I asked zippy to remove the box so they came with dustbag only.
Order timeline:
· 31/07 I contact zippy asking if the factories are doing boots currently (I am getting ready for autumn haha).
· 1/08 zippy sends his yupoo asking me which I am looking for, I send him the pic of the lowlands from his album. I asked him for real suede/best quality to which he confirmed. We discuss sizing briefly, I decide to go with 41 because although I’m a 39.5/40 usually (UK 6.5), rep shoes can run small. I have boots from zara in size 41 so I figure they’re unlikely to be too big and I can always wear thicker socks. For comparison, my nero plonge leather are a true to size 39.5 (US9). I pay via Paypal F&F.
· 11/08 zippy gets back in touch with PSPs. TBH I am mainly looking at quality which is always hard to tell through photos. The photos appear to be real suede so I GL. I wonder briefly if they will turn out to be too big in the end, as they look quite long in the photos of the sole (turns out this appearance is caused by them being marginally narrower than my other pair).
· 18/08: They arrive! I try them on and am pleased by the good fit. I could maybe have gone smaller but this pair seems to work well and is actually broadly the same size as my auth pair.
Quality : 9.9/10.
I was thrilled when I opened the package as these are perfect really, neat stitching, no loose stitches or glue marks. I deduct 0.1 only because they came with a strong chemical fufu – not really offensive, just the strong smell of new glue. I allowed it to dissipate naturally for a day and now they smell like new shoes like any other. My main concern was that the quality of the suede should be good and extremely pleased to say that it is – velvety soft and the satin like fabric interior of the boot is also very comfortable. To be honest even if they weren’t a rep I’d be happy to pay $184 for unbranded boots of this quality.
Accuracy: 9.7/10
· From the perspective of a normal person these are indistinguishable as far as I’m concerned and I don’t really believe that people QC this type of shoe unless there’s something really off, like it being made out of suedette or having completely the wrong length or the wrong shape to the toe box. Even then, dupes of the lowland/tieland/highland exist and people might not even be aware they’re wearing a dupe.
· The seams on the calf all appear to be in the right place and stitching is very neat. The suede models have a line of piping where they meet the sole which the leather models do not have. This appears to be of the appropriate puffiness.
· The shape of the seams on the front is ever so slightly more square than the black leather pair I compared them to. This is possibly because the shoe itself is slightly narrower in the foot and sole, and the heel is shorter by about half a centimetre (same height, just the heel block is not as large because the sole shape overall is narrower). In overall length and rep size 41 they’re about the same size as my 39.5 black leather pair. I deduct only -0.3 for this as I cannot tell the difference unless I’m literally holding them against each other. I have quite narrow feet and they feel very similar to wear. I guess if you have wide feet these reps may feel a bit tighter in the foot.
· The sole design *possibly* has some inaccuracies but I wouldn’t make any deductions for this as from what I can tell SW may update the sole design periodically and there are at least three different sole variations when you google. On SW’s website the lowland is showing as having the more lugged sole, same as my leather pair but this pair matches what they show for the current sole on the tieland. Made in Spain is flipped to face the heel of the shoe and stamped – on my other pair it faces the other way and is embossed/stands out. Would I have a clue what it was supposed to look like, no, I had not really considered the soles of any of my shoes before this review and couldn’t have told you what it should look like! I think unless you have invited someone who works for SW to QC the soles and told them how old the boots are there is no way anyone is noticing issues here as nobody cares enough to retain the details of every possible variation of SW soles :) Plus, the soles of my shoes are usually covered in dead leaves and London pavement funk so let’s be honest nobody is going to go there.
· Also note the stitching on the back of the heel, which differs from my leather pair and some other pairs in black suede I’ve found, but which appears to be current based on what’s shown on SW’s website and Harrods (a straight line of stitching to the heel, rather than a line of stitches which then bends round up and over the heel cup). I know brands do alter photos online to discourage reps so I can’t say for sure as I haven't seen the black suede auths recently but it appears that this is the current correct stitching. It’s hard to actually see the stitching in real life because the suede is a very deep true black.
· Inside both shoes is stamped Stuart Weitzman, the size and 04.19. The interior details are long worn off on my other pair so no idea whether this is accurate or not.
I've also lost the dustbag from my other pair so no idea how close this is.
· Generally, SW does make tweaks to their designs so it is definitely not the case that minor differences are a call-out. Before I found this community I had no idea that high end rep boots were even a thing *sweet summer child*
· Satisfaction: 11/10, I couldn’t be happier with these. I don’t think the quality on the authentic boots is all that earth shattering -the body of the boot and leather etc is nice, but it’s not like they are handstitched leather soles or anything. And the suede on this rep pair is really very good! I’m looking forward to some cold dry weather so I can wear them! If you're considering buying, rock these with pride and be happy you didn't spend the extra £610 which is in no way justified by quality differences etc.
· Service and/or Communication : 10/10. Zippy was great, responded very quickly and was friendly and helpful throughout. The shipping was also lightning fast which I know isn’t under the control of the TS but which made for an extremely smooth transaction. I will be happy to buy from Zippy again. He stocks princetowns from orange couch so I’m thinking those will probably be my next shoe purchase.

2020.08.31 23:17 Ilforte Russian translations 3: Toy People, Toy Money

This is a continuation of a series of translations of Russian conservative writings (1, 2, some assorted bits here and there) that I find edifying in present climate. This one specifically is about money and power in near future.
Shout-out to FD4280 who some 17 days ago asked me about a partial quote; and apologies for the culture shock or inadequacies of my sloppy work.
Krylov had a very dim view of the future, and a very paranoid view of the people in power. The first I read of him was a dim sci-fi story lampooning genre tropes, one about far future where humanity has developed FTL travel, nanomachines etc. and populated the galaxy, yet nearly everyone lives in dehumanizing squalor, jobless on UBI or doing some degrading work, no culture is allowed to the proles, economic crises continue to destroy entire solar systems' worth of labor, and unlike normal Western sci-fi it's not just illogical props, like in "Mandalorian", but a system very deliberately engineered to a particular end. Back then I did not understand anything, but it hit a nerve.
Here's a second speculative piece in a series; the first one, briefly, is about an eventual transformation of our modern smartphone-dominated reality into AR with corporate-controlled familiars/servants, "Pokemons", which will elicit an emotional bond and direct attention better than Big Tech innovations allow to at this point. Both tie into the concept of "Cyber-GULAG with postmodern characteristics" that was laughed at for a long time, but rapidly focused into plausibility this spring, when Muskovites learned that they may need QR codes to get out of their apartments.

Toy People, 25.07.2016, Konstantin Krylov

As statistics show, my previous article about Pokemons and their upcoming triumph aroused some interest. It is glorious when people are interested in their future. In order not to disappoint the readers, I have decided to continue the topic - this time devoting attention to another aspect of the coming world, namely the financial one.
One of the few methods of predicting the future that work (with all the caveats) is to use the principle "global trend eventually overmights [untranslatable, "перемогает"] local". Here, this Ukrainian word is appropriate: it exactly "overwhelms" - that it, overpresses, overpowers the resistant reality, in spite of all its fits. Because "that's where the thing is going".
The simplest example. Since the Neolithic Age people have been improving the means of communication. First, to communicate with a person from a neighboring village, one had to go there. Then they had to ride on horseback. Then - to take a paved road. Then, there were steam trains and steam boats, and you could get to a far away place in a few days. Telegraph, phone and e-mail have finished the problem: now the time spent on contact has been reduced to almost zero. Note: there were regular slowdowns, retreats, losses of technology along the way. Let's say, the Roman messaging system was much superior to the medieval one. The oldest technology - pigeon mail - was rediscovered multiple times (which, in particular, caused the rise of the Rothschilds). But, in general, the trend broke its way through.
Here's a more complicated example. It is known that as the military technology improves, army losses decrease, but civilian losses increase. The trend dates back to ancient times and was on several occasions close to its peak, for example in the late Middle Ages. The mass armies and especially the great slaughterhouses of the 20th century seemed to have disproved it. However, now it is clear to everyone - the matter is progressing again, and this time it is final. That is, missiles and robots will fight, and civilians will bear the losses. And now it will not be reverted, the game is done.
So, now we'll talk about a very important global trend. I would call it the disarmament of the population.
What do I mean? In the Neolithic, any man armed with a stone axe was dangerous. And not only for other men, but also for the authorities. And the difference between him and another man with a stone axe was not qualitative, but quantitative. Several men with axes could kill the chief of the tribe.
Now we see that even millions of ordinary people can do nothing against the elite of the state - so powerful it is and so weak they are. Simultaneously, the philistine is also weak against other philistines, because they are protected by this same state. Moreover, any community, even the most negligible one, provided it has a state mandate to mock the philistine, can do it as much as it feels like. Nowadays, such a mandate is regularly given to the so-called 'minorities', who bully and terrorize the law-abiding herd as they wish. Blacks, feminists, gays, Muslims - all of them, if they wish, can do what they want with any "white cisgender man", from insults and harassment to physical violence. He can do nothing, nothing at all.
How is this achieved? In different ways, but the main thing is disarmament and putting things under control. That is: they take away everything that can harm the state from the commoner, and control everything that can be used to cause such harm. In the end, everything will be taken away from him and everything will be controlled too.
In order not to look far for the example. Let's take the weapon in the most literal sense of the word - a firearm. At the moment, the philistines are not armed. Even in the countries where they are allowed to own a firearm, the average citizen still cannot use it, because it will be his fault, because self-defense is punishable. Of course, there are differences: in Russia it is absolutely punishable (almost all of those who tried to defend themselves went to jail), while in America Castle Doctrine (inflicting death on a person who illegally entered a home can be justified by a court as a permissible measure of necessary defense) and other healthy principles are still in force. Moreover, some countries are adopting them even now (for example, the same Castle Doctrine was adopted in Italy in 2005). But the general trend is quite clear: the scope of legal use of weapons is gradually narrowing and shrinking. In the end, its use against people will be made impossible at all.
Notice: this is the exact formulation. I did not say that all weapons would be "taken away" and "banned". That is, this option is also possible, but it is not the only one available. It will be quite enough for the authorities that you will not be able to shoot a representative of the authorities with your pistol. Or you can strengthen the demand - any person at all. For this purpose, it would suffice to equip the weapon with a special chip which will make it possible to shoot only after a permission from the police. Which will be issued only if you shoot at the indoor range, at beer cans. Still, it is possible to complicate the task further and equip the pistol with electronic recognition which will allow shooting at cats and crows (only wild - domestic ones will have a built-in blocking chip). Any silhouette at least remotely resembling a human one will trigger a blocking. Because it's no good for a petty commoner to shoot at people. Of course, the criminals will have "illegal guns", coming in mysterious ways. Or simply - a few people with sticks and knives, against which, as in the twelfth century, there will be exactly no recourse again. A commoner must be naked, pitiful, shivering and defenseless in front of any muscular scoundrel, and the gun is not good in that it equalizes the chances... And, of course, the police will become a superpower from outer space, just because they will have the right to shoot. And if they also will be enhanced with all kinds of modern gizmos, then the difference in strength between the commoner and their graces will become akin to the difference between a cockroach and Jupiter.
The same can be said, for example, about free time. If the commoner used it, he could think or invent something harmful. The chance is admittedly tiny, but it exists. So, for example, the working day is not reduced, but there are lots of activities that you can - and want! - to indulge in after-hours: from watching TV series to travelling ("it's necessary to see everything").
However, all this is obvious. I would like to talk about how the average person will be deprived of the last dangerous resource that is still in his hands - namely, money.
Indeed. Money is a very dangerous thing. With money, you can buy everything, including any serious possessions. For example, you can buy good steel, a diamond drill machine, and something on top of that. And you can make a primitive yet working firearm. In the hyperinformative era, you may get the blueprints of a peashooter ... And then, with this thing, a man will shoot at the godlike punisher-polizei. Or at a respectable, esteemed black ripper who has become used to killing people "as much as needed", because he is a black Muslim and has a gun (of course, without a chip), and white people do not even have a knife, only soft chubby legs and arms. Or - a dearest child of an important European official, who adopted laws under which all of the above became possible. By the way, one guy did it, his name was Breivik. He, truth be told, legally bought a ready-made weapon. But he could have made it himself too.
It seems that the easiest solution is to ban all dangerous things. Weapons, machine tools, explosive components, etc. But here is the trouble: there are more and more things in the world, and it is not clear which of them are safe and which are not. The nomenclature is too big, you can't keep track of everything. Besides, explosives and poisonous substances are only a small part of dangerous things. For example, computer programs - don't they come in all kinds? and who knows all they can do? And you can buy them for money, too. Well, that's it. Money - real money for which you can buy everything - should be taken from the commoner. In toto. And he should be given something else, simpler. Toy money with which he can only buy safe things, toys, and a little pleasure.
How will it be done? This is what we will talk about.
The first thing is not to give the little people money to save. Now, in the West, if you have a decent salary and live frugally, you can amass - by the end of your life, but still - a rather significant sum. And leave it to children, and they may already come up with something improper. It is even worse if the money goes not to your children, but, say, to friends or like-minded people. A commoner cannot have posthumous agency, no. He should not be able to bequeath his belongings to anyone. For it is not known what they will do.
Therefore, roughly at the end of XIX century a systematic war against the inheritance of property and wealth has been declared. The chosen method was simple - prohibitively high taxes on inheritance. To assess the level: the inheritance tax was introduced for the first time in history in Ancient Rome, by Augustus, it was 5% and was spent on the pension of soldiers. In modern France, the inheritance tax is 20 percent for direct line heirs and up to an insane 60 percent for those who are farther away or receive an inheritance by will (and this together with the fact that real estate, for example, is valuated at market value). In Japan, inheritance tax is also very high - 50% for large sums (and it was higher, but had to be rolled back). In America, the procedures are similar. In all other Western countries, the inheritance tax is comparable - from ten to twenty percent. Of course, there are certain liberties: small sums are not taxed yet. Some countries exist where there is no inheritance tax, but there are fewer and fewer of them (for example, recently the tax was introduced in Malaysia, despite many years of resistance from the rich Malay clans).
Of course, the hoi polloi resist the looting as much as they can. They are caught and punished. At the same time, they are constantly encouraged to 'surrender currency' to exceedingly numerous 'charitable organizations and foundations'. In other words, they give the profit to those who find a safe use for money. From this point of view, by the way, it does not matter whether the money will be spent to help starving black people, to save a rare species of bedbugs or simply to enrich state-approved parasites. What is important is that the money is neutralized.
It should be said that the point of the project is not particularly hidden. In the literature of the late XIX - early XX century (coming out from under the pen of moderate socialists) it says in black and white: inheritance tax is the way to "societal society". In which individuals that are too rich, and too free for this reason, are absent as a class.
Speaking of which. From a certain point in Western mass culture the universal villain figure has become a super-rich man with ideas. In other words, an independently thinking individual who has enough means to carry out his projects. Of course, some nasty thing always comes to his mind - to destroy mankind or something like that. For example, the famous James Bond throughout the whole series fights not so much with the "Reds" but exactly with such bad guys. And this in a society that calls itself "capitalist". In fact, this is a primitive setting of the commoner on the owner of capital: "money is bad, big money makes people foolish and prone to do nasty things". Of course, the apologia of poverty and squalor, such as in the USSR, is also not welcome - because a human is a dangerous thing too, and a poor human is easily bribed with very little money... But the "uncontrolled rich man" is nasty, doodoo.
That's regarding inheritance. As for the lifetime savings, there's a number of ways to eat them up. From the usual inflation to the organization of life such that a person gets into debt from the very beginning and then spends the rest of his life paying. All of this is described in the relevant literature in sufficient detail, let's not dwell on it.
Still. As long as real money remains in their hands, people can buy real things with it. So it is better to just take the money from people at all. Dollars are not children's toys.
How? Well, just like this.
We already got used - in Russia too - to such a small but pleasant little thing as bonus points, loyalty card crediting and other such niceties. Should you come to the tavern seven times, you will get a mug of free beer, a cookie or a discount from the main account on the eighth. These little toy moneys, at this point they are mainly utilized to goad the client into spending the real money.
However, it depends on how you look at it. All these "points", if properly leveraged, can become promising financial (and not only financial) instruments that work well at the micro level.
For now, issuance of all these "discount instruments" is restricted to stores and restaurants, and the cards are tightly tied to the buyer. They cannot be sold or given away. But this is a technical issue, by and large. So is the question of exchanging points for money, for example. Moreover, there are no fundamental restrictions on producing derivatives based on this system - say, using the currency basket mechanisms. Consider: someone is issuing (why and by what right - let's omit these details for now) some conditional unit of exchange the "cost" of which is defined as 0.5 points of a card of some central Moscow store, plus 0.3 discount points of a popular restaurant chain, plus 0.2 points of a chain of women's clothing and perfume. It should be noted that money – roubles or dollars – is out of the question, only points. This conventional unit is called, say, "Sale". Sale is exchanged at trades – arranged as exchange currency trades – for other points, and (for the time being) is bought for money. And it is profitable: by buying Sales, you can buy more goods and services than for money directly. By three percent, not more - but they won't hurt, right?
Now imagine that you are offered to cover part of the price with Sales, on favorable terms. You save five percent, or even whole ten percent. However, you will be able to shop only there where Sales are accepted. But you it's not like you need anything else. You need to eat, get dressed, go to the cinema... you can get all this for Sales. And real money will be needed to pay taxes and for communal housing.
Why such difficulties? Little by little, one travels far. Dangerous toys - dollars, rubles, euros - should be taken away from people gradually, and in such a manner that they themselves give them up. In the end, the toy "Sales" will actually cover the basic needs of an ordinary citizen, and even ten percent above that. Do you insist on getting paid in real money? You will not be refused. But there will be rumors that you are saving money for something bad. Maybe for drugs? Or are you sending it to terrorists? Your account might begin to attract interest. And you personally, too. No, no, no, if you have nothing illegal, no one will bother you. Why do you need money anyway? Oh, you're saving for a diamond ring for your loved one? Well, we didn't foresee that, so we'll suggest to the jewelers that they put special points on diamonds and include it in the Sale basket.
Here's what's important about this. You will always be able to earn Sales not with work, but with demonstrating good behavior - like now. That is: if you constantly go to the same food joint, you will be awarded Sales. If you buy new products of your favorite company, the same happens. And so on.
Further, the component I wrote about in the previous article will be added to the points: Sales for good behavior in the most direct sense of the word. You crossed the street on green, following all the rules - Sale. For each minute of waiting - additional Sale (a CCTV installed on the traffic light and your cell phone connected to a chip in the same traffic light will detect it). Ran across the street - no, you will not be penalized in any manner, but the next fifty good things you will be doing for free. We hope that you had a good reason to be in such a hurry and it was worth it ... And so on and so forth.
It is very important that Sales will be paid for good behavior. Because after a while, the compensation of what used to be called labor, too, will be made on the same principle.
No, real work will be paid for with real money. But by that time, five or six percent of the population will have a real job to do real work. The rest of the population will be engaged in harmless, but also not exactly useful nonsense, the essence and meaning of which they themselves will not understand. But going to the office, arriving on time, sitting at the computer during the time specified in the contract - all this, specifically, will be paid for. And again, not rewarded as labor but as good, correct, socially useful behavior. Even the choice of tea instead of coffee (tea is more healthy) will be rewarded with a Sale or two.
After a while, people will get used to living in a world of toy money. Yes, they will not be able to buy weapons, powerful drugs (only vitamins and dietary supplements) or at least a hammer with nails. But all of this is so rarely needed. Instead, it would be better to live with Sales in the toy world of a well-fed city sluggard. By the way, Sales will be "globalized" from the inception - because the trade networks that emit them are global. That is, national currencies will remain, there will be usual problems with the exchange rates (those will be amplified, even), but Sales will be accepted everywhere where there is "McDonald's", "Zara" and other such places. And, of course, electronic services and social networks. Because "Facebook" will also be a source of Sales - it will award them for posts, comments and even likes, according to very tricky formulas that users will not understand. But their activity in networks will bring them income - small, but pleasant. And suspensions and other punishments for wrong words and thoughts - it will hit them in their pocket. And it will be done not by a totalitarian state, but by a private business entitled to its rights.
I could develop this topic further, but "that's enough for a smart man", and I am already too talkative. So I'll simply remind you: it's just a forecast, that is, an attempt to outline one of the approaches to solving the problem of taking away from people everything that can prevent the Ones Who Order from ruling forever. Maybe they will find another solution, a more interesting one. Or maybe they will do it very roughly.
But they will be tackling the problem - necessarily.

2020.08.28 19:55 samserra201 All Seasons of Love Island ranked from MOST to LEAST bad, on the basis of CrINgE FaCtOR

(Disclaimer : This isn't meant to be unkind to the Islanders involved. Cringe is both a good thing and a bad thing - some of the best comedy comes from cringy situations! )
ALL Seasons ranked from MOST to LEAST cringe:
1) US Season 1 - Most cringy season overall. Literally everything about it. I cringed whenever they would copy stuff from the UK seasons, like when they talked about "fanny flutters". The worst thing was the narrator. Trying too hard to be Iain.
2) AUS Season 2 - All the guys gave me the ick. Matthew's crying. The villa was cramped. They had to do the line-up around the pool. And it had only one flamingo, lol. All their bathing-suits had the word "Tradie" printed on it.
3) UK Season 1 - When Josh and Jon started wearing shades and slicked-back hair, trying to be 1950s gangsters. The "Italian Stallion" twins. Beth coming in, all guns blazing for Jess, lol. And that random posh guy. And the awkward live-audience chats. And poor Lauren getting passed around like an old pair of socks.
4) UK Season 6 - The twins - Jess and Eva. Like - why are their tongues always out? Why can't Nas take a hint? And Connor. And why did that posh guy even come on the show? Callum walked into the door. And why does Luke M look like he is trying to be an actual JB impersonator? And why is Mike moving mad? And why does Rebecca think she's Maura? And why is Shaughna catching feelings after twelve minutes?
5) UK Season 2 - I love Zara as a person, but I cringed during the hideaway scene. And poor Liana. And Tom's possessiveness. And Kady's beakdown in the hidaway with Olivia. And #toastiegate. And the Terry/Emma sex scene. And the five male bombshells that couldn't get a girl, lol... their attempts at seduction. And Adam Maxted comparing girls to dogs.
6) AUS Season 1 - When none of the girls stepped forward for the first three guys. I almost died, lol. And every time Justin or Josh tried to flirt with a new girl. And basically every time Eden called Erin "pumpkin pie", a part of me wanted to curl up and die. And Cassidy's slow descent into madness.
7) UK Season 4 - Not much cringe, except for characters like Georgia, Eyal and Hayley. Whenever Rosie would break down. Georgia: "I'm loyal, babes". And Dr. Alex's flirting.
8) UK Season 5 - When Yewande sat on Danny's leg. Curtis's "young lady" chat. Lucie's break-downs. Anna's method of arguing with people, lol. Otherwise, not much cringe.
9) UK Season 3 - Not much cringe. . Tyne-Lexy's convo with Chris. Any drama involving Sam Gowland. When Georgia picked Kem. Oh and - Marcel was in the Blazin' Squad. Honorable mention: Johnny's nostrils
Please include your favorite/cringiest moments in the comments. And if you would put the seasons in a different order!

Legends! It’s been a crazy Summer, but everything has its end. Fall will bring just as much, if not more content, and quench your thirst for all things related to warships with a series of exciting additions. Let's begin!
This Update will see the arrival of the Regia Marina AKA Italian Navy, in the form of the cruiser line coming to Early Access, as well as battleship Roma—hero of the “Veni, Vidi, Vici” Campaign. No less important is a new feature that will allow better management of your Camouflage and also enable you to upgrade and create new Camos! Come on into the game, see your way to victory, and conquer the waves!

The “Veni, Vidi, Vici” Campaign

Roma, our first entry into the realm of Italian battleships is the ultimate reward for finishing the new Campaign. She resides at Tier VII, and among her traits are high speed and great maneuverability, making her a great choice if you want to cover more of the map. Her 381 mm guns are mounted on quickly traversing turrets, making switching between targets that much easier. You’ll find that you get the best accuracy when engaging in combat within a range of 15 km, and if the action gets too close for comfort, the 40% torpedo protection will play a crucial role in increasing the longevity of your naval crusade.
As you progress through conquering the 100 milestones of the Campaign, you’ll receive a trove of rewards, including, but not limited to, all kinds of Boosters and currencies, including Lira—which you can spend in the Admiralty during this Update. Additionally, you'll receive several Italian Cruiser crates, as well as an Italian Commander crate, to bolster your fleet and roster.
The Weekly Missions are cumulative this time, so they don't reset or disappear each week. However, Shakedown Trials are blocked by the Endurance Trials chain. Also note that the difficulty curve of the tasks will increase from week 1 to week 4, and slightly fall on week 5.
Rewards you can get without the Admiralty Backing:
  • 60x Common Boosters
  • 11x Regia Marina Camouflages
  • 235,000 Commander XP
  • 2,500 Global XP
  • 350,000 credits
  • 8x Promotion Orders
  • 1x Insignia
  • 1x Commendation
  • 5x Italian Cruiser crates
  • 1x Big Italian Cruiser crate
  • 7 days of Premium Account
  • 800 Lira
  • 300 doubloons
  • 1x Italian Commander crate
  • 1x Patch Background
  • 1x Patch Symbol
Value of the rewards without the Admiralty Backing: 18,528 doubloons
Additional rewards you can get with the Admiralty Backing (2,500 doubloons)
  • 45x Rare Boosters
  • 35x Epic Boosters
  • 11x Regia Marina Camouflages
  • 12,000 Global XP
  • 140,000 Commander XP
  • 1,300,000 credits
  • 17x Promotion Orders
  • 3x Insignias
  • 2x Commendations
  • 7x Italian Cruiser crates
  • 3x Big Italian Cruiser crates
  • 1,600 Lira
  • 950 doubloons
  • Tier VII Battleship Roma
Total value of the rewards including the Admiralty Backing: 75,220 doubloons

Regia Marina Cruisers

Forming the backbone of the Italian navy in Legends is the new cruiser line! This time, you'll have access to Tier I–II cruisers via research, while Tier III–VI ships will drop from Early Access crates that can be found in the Campaign and the Store. As usual, there will be two grades of containers—regular and big, with the latter having higher chances of dropping one of the new ships. Another caveat—the lower the ship's tier, the higher the chances of finding her in one of the containers.
These cruisers offer a mix of great maneuverability and light armor. Their firepower is nothing to sneeze at either, with impactful 203 mm guns at higher tiers. Their torpedo armament is also quite respectable! However, you need to be very careful while navigating these beauts, as their armor is reminiscent of their British counterparts.
The full list of Italian cruisers is as follows:
  • Tier I Nino Bixio (researchable)
  • Tier II Taranto (researchable)
  • Tier III Alberto di Giussano (Early Access)
  • Tier IV Raimondo Montecuccoli (Early Access)
  • Tier V Trento (Early Access)
  • Tier VI Zara (Early Access)
  • Tier VII Amalfi (available in the next Update)
The Early Access cruisers come bundled with personal missions that can each only be completed once.

Italian Commanders

A ship can only go so far without an able Commander, so making their way to the ever-growing personnel roster are four distinguished Italian officers.
The Commanders and new skills they possess can be found below:
  • Inigo Campioni, the default Commander for Regia Marina ships.
    • Spartan (base trait): reduces all incoming damage by 0.2% per rank up, to a total of 4%.
  • Francesco Mimbelli, a cruiser Commander.
    • Time to Make a Move (base trait): reduces the reload time of your cruiser's guns by 0.3% per rank, up to a total of 6%.
    • I'm Not Insane! (skill): reduces the range of your torpedoes (–40% static), but makes them faster (by 2–7 knots, depending on rank) and better concealed (50–200 meters depending on rank).
  • Luigi Sansonetti, a cruiser Commander.
    • Aegis (base trait): reduces all incoming damage to your cruiser by 0.3% per rank, up to a total of 6%.
    • Subtle Manipulations (skill): reduces the fuse timer for AP shells (–90% static), as well as increases your cruiser's AP shell damage (+2% to +10% depending on rank), but widens the shell grouping (–5% static). This skill improves cruiser shell effectiveness against lightly armored targets and reduces the number of overpenetrations.
  • Paolo Di Revel, a battleship Commander.
    • Time Is of the Essence (base trait): improves the reload speed of your battleship's main battery by 0.3% per rank, up to a total of 6%.
    • Artisan's Touch (skill): increases the fuse timer for battleship AP shells (+10% static) and increases their penetration rating (+2% to +10% depending on rank). This skill improves the ability of your battleship to deal damage to other battleships by making shells penetrate deeper into hulls before exploding. However, this also increases the chances overpenetrating lightly armored targets.
Inigo Campioni will be available to everyone right from the start, while the other three Commanders can be obtained from Italian Commander crates and regular Commander crates.

Improved Legendary Skills

You've been asking us to make the Legendary skills feel more, well, "Legendary," and the point was definitely a valid one, so we've prepared a set of improvements. The main change is that these skills now have an active component that activates whenever you get close to an ally or enemy, depending on the particular skill. Note that Equilibrium of Power has been moved to the Legendary tier.
Before we move on to the descriptions of the new effects, please be informed that all players who have already reached Account Level 7 will receive 2 Commendations, while those who have Nikolay Kuznetsov or Stepan Makarov will also receive a Universal Commendation for each of them. There are slight changes to some of the existing effects, but as a rule, all new active effects empower the skills.
Added skill effects (maximum distances to ships in brackets, mastery levels 1–4) higher mastery allows the effect to be activated at longer distances:
  • Unstoppable: speeds up the Damage Control Party cooldown time by 50% when in the proximity of an enemy ship (3 km; 4.5 km; 6 km; 7.5 km).
  • Fully Packed: speeds up consumable reload time by 30% when in the proximity of an allied ship (1.5 km; 2 km; 2.75 km; 3.5 km).
  • Will to Rebuild: automatically activates the Repair Party effect if the ship’s HP is lower than 20%, independently of whether the consumable is available or not. Restoration occurs at a rate of 0.5% of the max HP per second when in the proximity of an allied ship (1.5 km; 2 km; 2.75 km; 3.5 km).
  • Give Me Speed: increases your destroyer's maximum speed by 10% when in the proximity of an enemy ship (3 km; 4.5 km; 6 km; 7.5 km).
  • Leviathan: decreases the rudder-shift time by 20% when in the proximity of an enemy ship (3 km; 4.5 km; 6 km; 7.5 km).
  • Rather Be Torching: shortens your destroyer's increased detectability time by 30% after firing main guns when in the proximity of an allied ship (1.5 km; 2 km; 2.75 km; 3.5 km).
  • Refill Station: increases your cruiser's maximum firing range by 10% when in the proximity of an allied ship (1.5 km; 2 km; 2.75 km; 3.5 km).
  • By The Book: reduces incoming damage to your cruiser by 20% when in the proximity of an allied ship (1.5 km; 2 km; 2.75 km; 3.5 km).
  • Farsight: reduces incoming torpedo damage to your ship by 30% when in the proximity of an allied ship (1.5 km; 2 km; 2.75 km; 3.5 km).
  • Running With Scissors: increases your battleship's main gun shell damage by 15% when in the proximity of an enemy ship (3 km; 4.5 km; 6 km; 7.5 km).
  • Smogathon: increases your torpedo speed by 10 knots when in the proximity of an allied ship (1.5 km; 2 km; 2.75 km; 3.5 km).
  • Equilibrium of Power: no proximity effect. However, the skill has been moved to the Legendary tier, as well as added to Norman Scott and Thomas Kincaid's arsenals. Additionally, the skill now statically reduces the ship's chances of setting fires with HE shells by 2%.
Skills that require enemy ships to be within a certain proximity also require that enemy to be actively spotted.
UPDATE: changes to the existing passive effects of the skills:
  • Running With Scissors: dispersion of main battery penalty was increased at mastery ranks 3 (6% to 7%) and 4 (8% to 10%).
  • Rather Be Torching: HE shell maximum damage penalty was decreased at rank 4 (10% to 7%).
  • Leviathan: HP bonus is increased at ranks 3 (6% to 7%) and 4 (8% to 10%), penalty to rudder shift time was decreased at rank 4 (4% to 3%).
  • Will To Rebuild: the skill was changed so that it doesn't just boost the HP regeneration with Repair Party active, but makes the boost stronger and the Repair Party duration shorter. The net effect of skill is the same as before, however it is reached faster.
  • Fully Packed: the boost to consumable reload speed was increased at ranks 2 (1% to 2%), 3 (2% to 3%) and 4 (3% to 5%).

Transformers Content

Four iconic Transformers characters will be released initially as unique ship skins and commanders with recognizable phrases and voiceovers. Optimus Prime and Bumblebee will set the stage for the heroic Autobots, with Megatron and Rumble to be available as their eternal foes — the Decepticons.
There are four new base traits—one for each of the robots, and two new skills—with each character receiving one. The skins also provide cool animations for the ships, both in the Port and in battle. The Commanders and skins are available from the Store directly, but you also have a chance to find them in Cybertronian containers. Flags and patches will also be available through purchasable missions.
Our heroes, their special skills, and ships are as follows:
Optimus Prime, commands Iowa
  • Reconstructor (base trait): reduces the Repair Party cooldown time by up to 6%
  • Revocation Protocol (skill): shortens the duration of fires on your ship (–5% to –20%) and decreases the Spotter cooldown time (–10% to –30%).
Bumblebee, commands Fletcher
  • Overboost (base trait): increased the duration of Engine Boost by up to 20%
  • Calculated Inversion (skill): drastically improves the rudder-shift time (–40% to –70%) and boosts acceleration (+40% to +100%) while the Smoke Generator is active, but makes the smoke screen dissipate faster (–30%, static).
Megatron, commands Bismarck
  • Cyber Lens (base trait): increases your battleship's main gun firing range by up to 6%.
  • Revocation Protocol (skill): shortens the duration of fires on your ship (–5% to –20%) and decreases the Spotter cooldown time (–10% to –30%).
Rumble, commands Tashkent
  • Robotic Breadth (base trait): increase your destroyer's main gun range by up to 6%.
  • Calculated Inversion (skill): drastically improves the rudder-shift time (–40% to –70%) and boosts acceleration (+40% to +100%) while the Smoke Generator is active, but makes the smoke screen dissipate faster (–30%, static).

French Destroyers

Whether you gave these smokeless speedsters a spin in the previous Update or not, you've almost certainly met them in battle! You can now research the full line of these gunboats up to and including the handsome Le Fantasque—complete with the Main Battery Reload Booster bolstering her 139 mm guns. Engine Boost is also present, which can push the destroyer up to the lower 50s on occasion. Perhaps, THE gunboat of Tier VII, competing for the title with Fletcher.

Camouflage Management

The time has come to enjoy more Camouflages and choose which colors you want to turn Permanent! That's right, you can now convert any Disposable Camouflage into a Permanent one by using a new currency—Paint.
Your Camo collection is about to get a lot more interesting! So, let’s find out what you can do with it:
  • Upgrade a number of Disposable Camo sets to Permanent Camos for a particular ship. That camo will receive "Grade 1" status after the upgrade (0.5% bonus).
  • Upgrade newly created Permanent Camo to higher grades, improving concealment and incoming shell dispersion stats.
  • Create Historic Camos for ships with Paint. This particular feature will be rolled out in later updates and the Camos will be added on a regular basis.
  • Melt Disposable Camos down into Paint, which can be used for camo creation and upgrades.
Making Permanent Camos out of Disposable ones takes different numbers of sets depending on the Camo. However, upgrading it always costs the same amount of Paint:
  • 150 Paint to Grade II
  • 250 Paint to Grade III
  • 350 Paint to Grade IV
Whenever buying a Camo that you already have, but that’s of a different grade, you will be compensated with Paint (unless stated otherwise). The amount of Paint you receive is always based on the lower-grade Camouflage, whether you're upgrading or getting a lower-grade duplicate from a bundle, for example. The amount of paint you’ll receive for duplicate camo is as follows:
  • Grade I: 75
  • Grade II: 150
  • Grade III: 250
  • Grade IV: 350
Please note: newly released Premium ships may come with different grades of Permanent Camouflages in the future.

Miscellaneous Improvements

  • Added a filter option for Italian ships; Italian Commanders receive their own tab in the Commanders menu.
  • Boosters can now be converted in bulk.
  • Unused Personal Commendations are now displayed on Commander portraits in the menu.
  • Enabled voiceovers for Mexican Spanish.
  • Water splash effects have been reworked to offer a more realistic experience.
  • Any unspent Liberty Bonds will be compensated at a rate of 7,500 credits to 1 Liberty Bond.
  • Blurring in the UI is now smoother (on the battle end, full-screen notifications are instances of where blurring is used).
  • The artwork for the Russian Commanders, except Anton Gurin, received slight improvements.
  • Tier I ships, except for Albany and Chikuma, have been removed from the default Port lineup for new players. They can still be bought for 0 credits once a player reaches Account Level 3.
  • Several personal patches have been recentered to align better with various backgrounds.
  • Several Premium ships have been moved to the "Ships" menu.

Fixed Bugs

  • A delay in UI elements appearing after navigating to the main menu from the Bureau screen.
  • Rare occurrence of multiplayer not functioning on Xbox Live-enabled accounts (this usually occurred for no longer than several minutes).
  • Focus frame disappearing from Commanders whenever players entered the Assign Commander menu, then exited and entered again.
  • Upgrade notifications/new ships available for unlocking sometimes took players to the Loadout menu instead of the Ship Progress bar.
  • The battle timer sometimes switched to an incorrect color upon a battle ending (orange to white instead of white to orange).
  • The Campaign milestone number sometimes blinked after the Campaign window was opened.
  • Incorrect focus framing when moving between the camo section of the Loadout menu and ship stats.
  • Rare cases of the Campaign window not refreshing right after acquiring an Admiralty Backing.
  • Upon opening the Commander menu for the first time after launching the game, players would see an unintended animation on the background flag.
  • Players from different platforms with the same nickname could cause the voice chat UI to be displayed incorrectly.

Additional Premium Ships

There's a 95% chance that these ships will make it into this Update, but some may end up being postponed. We’ll announce each ship a few days before she becomes available.
  • Tier IV Italian battleship Giulio Cesare, available for doubloons.
  • Tier VI Italian cruiser Duca degli Abruzzi, available for doubloons.
  • Tier V British cruiser London, available for doubloons.
  • Tier VII French battleship Gascogne, available for 750,000 Global XP.

2020.08.24 02:29 PrinceeKevinn2001 Guests coming in without masks

So 2 weeks ago I just started working my first retail job at Zara ; before this I was a shift lead at a movie theatre, and held many other odd jobs. I was out of work for about 6 months cuz of the pandemic. Am I the only one who gets frustrated at the fact that so many people come in with no masks ? And they don’t even ask for a mask when they come in ! And in my state it’s the law to wear a mask in stores. It’s like the guests get upset when we make them wear masks. And honestly it gets me mad cuz it’s like they should have respect for the fact that us workers are putting our safety on the line going to work. And even despite the pandemic; my store is packed daily ; with lines from the register in the back , all the way to the front door, in each department too, men’s, women’s, and kids.
