Hello, EtsySellers!
I've been figuring out over the last two weeks how to set up my Etsy shop on my business Facebook and Instagram page, so that followers can browse my products on the social media app, then be taken to Etsy to complete the purchase. From a few posts about this recently, where I asked for help, there seemed to be a large number of people who also didn't know how to set any of this up, or had tried and given up. I figured I would share some of what I learned during this process as a sort of "how to" post, since I finally got my Etsy shop all set up for Facebook and Instagram shopping. Surprisingly, Facebook doesn't have any thorough documentation about how this entire process works, they just have documentation about specific steps within the overall process, which is where a lot of my confusion stemmed from.
So, this post hopefully demystifies the process a bit and makes it seem a bit more straightforward. All in all, it took me about 2 weeks to get completely set up and approved. Step 2, below, takes the longest, and depending on your level of technological prowess and willingness for trial/error, it could take a few hours. The rest is actually pretty simple.
DISCLAIMER 1: This is specifically for those of us who are directly linking our Etsy shop to Facebook/Instagram shopping (not a catalog from our own website or Shopify, or whatever other 3rd party selling app). At the end of this whole process, your followers/shoppers will be able to browse your products on Facebook/Instagram and you will be able to tag products in your photos. Customers will then be able to complete their purchase on Etsy. Facebook has other options for checking out, like directly checking out through Facebook/Instagram, however I didn't prefer that, so I'm not covering that here.
DISCLAIMER 2: There are so many things that need to be in place and connected properly for this to work. If you run into issues while setting this up, I would highly recommend reaching out to Facebook Support directly. They were surprisingly responsive when I reached out about an issue I had while setting up my shop!
DISCLAIMER 3: If anything I say here is incorrect, kindly drop a comment or PM me and I will edit the post so others are better informed. I only went through this process once (and sorta fumbled my way through at that) so I wouldn't be surprised if this is not a perfect, all-inclusive how-to lesson!

WHAT YOU NEED:

—Facebook Business Manager Account
—Facebook Business Page
—Instagram Business Profile (only if you want to connect your Facebook shop to Instagram)
—Etsy shop
—Access to Google Sheets
—Meet the Facebook Commerce requirements
—Have your pages connected to Business Manager
—Patience (because it can be confusing!)
—A willingness to research and learn :)

STEP 1: VERIFY YOUR ETSY DOMAIN

Etsy provides super clear instructions on how to do this, so I'm just gonna drop the link here. Navigate to your domains in Facebook Business Manager by going to: Business Settings > Brand Safety > Domains, then follow Etsy's instructions.
You must verify your domain to be eligible to sell on Facebook or Instagram.

STEP 2: SET UP YOUR CATALOG

WARNING: This is the most confusing/time-intensive step, so bear with me.
Your catalog will hold all of your products.
—You can have only 1 catalog per shop.
—You can only have physical products for sale in your shop.
—You need at least 12 products to be able to sell through Facebook/Instagram.
There is not an integration between Etsy and Facebook that allows sellers to easily upload their Etsy listings to Facebook. So, you first need to create a data feed. The data feed will then be used to create your catalog and ultimately display your products on your Facebook and Instagram shops.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE/CAVEAT: All of your listing data will need to be uploaded to Facebook and maintained manually by you. Since there isn't an integration between Etsy and Facebook, when something sells on Etsy, the quantity/availability on Facebook shops will not automatically adjust like it does on Etsy. It would be your responsibility to update your data feed so that your Facebook shop is displaying your products accurately. If you have a ton of products that sell fast, setting up your Facebook/Instagram shop in this way may not be the best fit. If Facebook finds out that what is showing up in your Facebook shop is not accurate, you may become ineligible to sell on Facebook/Instagram (see the commerce requirements).
First, head to Etsy and download all of your listing data. Shop Manager > Settings > Options > Download Data. Download your "Currently For Sale Listings" and save the CSV file.
Next, set up your products in Google Sheets.
I would recommend using Google Sheets, as opposed to Excel or manually adding items to your catalog. If using Google Sheets, Facebook will automatically update your products based on what is in the Google Sheet every hour, every day, or every week—whatever you set it to. If a product sells on Etsy, you can edit the quantity in the spreadsheet and wait for Facebook to automatically update the quantity in your Facebook shop over the next hour, eliminating the need for manual reuploading your data.
Create a new Google Sheet. Go to File > Import > Upload and select the CSV you just saved. You'll need to delete most of the rows and you might need to clean up a few columns.
Since Facebook has certain data feed specifications, I created a sample Google Sheet with all the necessary columns you can use as a template. There are some additional notes about each column on the sample sheet I would advise reading. Copy row 1 of the sample sheet and place it as row 1 of your data feed sheet. Make sure the title of the column matches what the column is and adjust as needed. Be sure to keep the wording of the column titles exactly as they are in the sample sheet, otherwise your upload may have errors.
Fill out the spreadsheet completely with your data.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR INSTAGRAM SHOPS: If you intend to also set up your shop on Instagram, you will need to make sure the URL you are placing in your data feed matches the domain you verified earlier. Etsy listings default to display as http://www.etsy.com/listing/listingnumber, which will create errors when you go to set up your Instagram shop since the domain is etsy.com, not shopname.etsy.com. To get around this, copy/paste your listing link, then add your subdomain prefix before "etsy.com" (for example, http://www.shopname.etsy.com/listing/listingnumber) and take out any other unnecessary characters at the end of the URL string. The link formatted with your subdomain will still direct people to the correct listing.
When finished, create your catalog: go to Facebook Business Manager > Catalog Manager > Create Catalog > Select Ecommerce > Follow the remaining prompts.
Next, upload your data feed: go to Catalog (in the Catalog Manager sidebar menu) > Data Sources > Bulk Upload > Click Google Sheets > Follow the remaining prompts.
Your products should start uploading to the catalog and if you filled out the spreadsheet correctly, your upload should be successful. If you have errors in your spreadsheet, review the error log provided by Facebook and adjust, review their troubleshooting help sheet, or use their feed debugger to identify the problem spots.

STEP 3: SET UP YOUR FACEBOOK SHOP

With your catalog successfully uploaded, you should now be able to set up your shop.
IMPORTANT: You must create your Facebook shop first, before trying to connect your shop to Instagram. Facebook will review your shop to ensure it meets all their requirements. Assuming your commerce account is approved, you should then be able to connect your shop to Instagram.
Go to Facebook Business Manager > Commerce Manager > Shops > Follow the remaining prompts. Be sure to select only your Facebook page when you get to where you'd like to connect your shop.

STEP 4: CREATE COLLECTIONS

Collections are customer facing "folders" (more or less) that hold your products. Facebook reviews your collections and all of your products prior to your shop being published to ensure they meet their commerce requirements. Upon review and approval of your collections, you will be able to publish your shop.
You can have 6-30 products in each collection and you must have at least two collections to publish your shop. After you create your collections, you can add them to your shop in the Shop Editor.
The review process on your collections can take up to 24 hours, so this is a good time to take a break and come back later with a fresh brain.
Approval on your commerce account will come via email. Once you've been approved, you can then publish your shop to your Facebook page.
STEP 5: UPDATE YOUR FACEBOOK PAGE
After your commerce account has been approved for Facebook Shopping, you can update your Facebook page so that users can browse your items directly on Facebook.
If your Facebook page is not already set to the "Shopping" template, change that now. On your Facebook page, go to Settings > Templates & Tabs > Select Shopping. Then update your page button so that customers are taken to your Facebook shop instead of your website. [Note: I had some problems updating my button, so if you get stuck here or can't update it for whatever reason, give it a few days to work itself out.]

STEP 6: SET UP INSTAGRAM SHOPPING

The last step in all of this is setting up your shop on Instagram, if you want to.
First, disconnect your Instagram profile from your Facebook page. Do this by going to your Facebook page > Settings > Instagram > Disconnect. Do the same on your Instagram profile by going to Settings > Account > Linked Accounts > Facebook > Disconnect. For whatever reason, you need to start fresh when connecting your Facebook shop to Instagram. You will reconnect your Facebook and Instagram pages as you set up your Instagram shop.
With your accounts disconnected, on the Instagram app, go to Settings > Business > Set up Instagram Shopping > Follow the remaining prompts.
If you've made it this far and have followed these directions, everything should work, including reconnecting your Facebook page.
At the end of this process, you'll get a confirmation screen that your Instagram shop has been sent for approval. Like your Facebook shop, your Instagram shop will be approved as well, which can take up to a week. When your Instagram profile gets approved for shopping on Instagram, you'll get a Instagram notification telling you so. Customers will then be able to view your shop on your Instagram profile and you can start tagging products in your photos.

Hi Reddit,
it's probably common wisdom: if you add memory to your system, make sure to use two identical modules to avoid any performance or stability issues.
But sometimes if you have memory lying around from other systems, it's tempting to just bunch them together. Asymmetric operation of Dual Channel memory is a real feature that warrants some hard testing. Here we go!

What is Asymmetric Dual Channel?

It's when both RAM modules are not identical - especially if they have different capacity. Ideally, a config such as 16GB + 32GB should give you 32GB of Dual Channel memory with 16GB of Single Channel on top.
In Intel, support for Asymmetric Dual Channel is known as 'Flex Mode'. AMD does not seem to have a marketing claim for this. But some AMD mainboard vendors claim to support it as well. (Example, see PDF page 17)
The normal wisdom for Asymmetric Dual Channel is to put the smaller module (in my case 16GB) in the first slot. Under this assumption, a config like 16GB+32GB should be 'just fine'.

Benchmarks: Symmetric vs. Asymmetric Dual Channel

After each config change, I did a BIOS Reset and cycled through the performance profiles, landing on 'Overboost' again. With this, I ran a number of benchmarks in a row on each config.
I ran each benchmark only once, so their might be some 1~2% run-to-run variation. This is within the margin of error. I made sure to keep the environment stable.
For gaming, I used the Shadow of the Tomb Raider Demo (Steam version) with the built-in benchmark. Settings are: DirectX 12, 1920x1080; Preset 'Highest'.

Numbers between 98 and 102% are probably within the margin of error. Performance drops below 90% are obviously concerning.

Observations

Not every benchmark will see a performance impact on asymmetric dual channel. The raw rendering benchmark Cinebench is not affected at all, but the more diverse Geekbench shows a clear impact.
PCMark10 seems to be fine with Config 2 (16+32) but shows a clear impact in the least ideal Config 3 (32+16). The biggest impact is in the 'Spreadsheets' test which uses a lot of OpenCL (AFAIK).
Unigine Superposition is a very synthetic GPU benchmark that loads the GPU up to 100% while doing relatively little CPU to GPU communication. There are no scenes changes or dynamic elements. It's all just a bunch light/shadow rendering, most if this done within the CPU.
It's surprising that Unigine Superposition shows no performance impact on the asymmetric Dual Channel configurations. This gives reason to believe that the bottleneck is not within the NVIDIA Optimus Copy Engine, where the system memory (as much as I understand this rather old technology) is used as a buffer between dGPU rendering and iGPU display output.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is a gaming benchmark that is known to scale quite well with Memory Speed and Latency. It shows a very clear impact with a performance reduction down to 82% or even only 75% in the asymmetrical configs. The detailed results indicate that the bottleneck in longer frametimes is clearly happening on the CPU side which obviously involves the memory configuration.
Please keep in mind that these results are not final and are only done on a single system with only two different RAM modules. Also, my understanding about how Dual Channel works in detail is limited - so while my observations might be correct, my conclusions should currently be understood as hypothesis.

Next steps

We have informed AMD about these results and asked for comments.
I might repeat this test next week with an asymmetric configuration where both memory modules use identical timings, preferably from the same vendor. I might also repeat this test later on an Intel system.
We will keep you updated as soon as we have more information.
Until then: make sure you build your Gaming Laptop with symmetrical Dual Channel configurations. AMD CPU systems heavily benefit from balanced Dual Channel configurations. If you buy your XMG or SCHENKER laptop with only one single module on bestware, then please add a second module with the same part number.

Hello,
I'm looking for help to troubleshoot a persistent graphics issue which I have had since early August, and haven't been able to figure out.
My Setup
I am running Windows 10 version 2004 build 19041.508, with the latest September Cumulative Update applied.
I have a Dell U3014 monitor with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti card, connected with a Mini DisplayPort cable (I have also used an HDMI cable, same issue persists, see below).
The driver version for the card reported by Speccy and System Information is: 27.21.14.5638. The "Game Ready Driver" version reported by GeForce Experience is 456..38 release date 17 September 2020 (although this issue is also applicable to prior driver versions, including 452.xx).
Important: I am using (the built-in) Windows Magnifier. I am legally blind, so I don't know if I have the same issue without the magnifier enabled.
As for extra software...well that's a long list and I'm not sure what is relevant to the debug.
The Issue
I have been experiencing weird graphics behaviour since updating to v 2004 in early August. Sometimes the screen will "flicker" or "shake" from side-to-side, sometimes it will "rubberband" to an area I was being before. For example, I may be looking at a browser tab, then move down into the body of a webpage, and then my screen will "rubberband" back up into the menu / tab bar of the browser.
This does not happen all the time, but it happens frequently enough to be annoying. I have not been able to isolate this to any single application or action. Sometimes, even performing the same action multiple times in a row will give different results.
Example: at the time of writing this post, opening the system tray caused this graphics issue. My screen was shaking and flickering from one edge of the tray area to the right, and it was almost impossible to click anything. It went away on its own after a few seconds, and I was not able to reproduce the effect reliably. Sometimes nothing happens, sometimes there is a small flicker, but I haven't been able to reproduce the original shaking.
The issue happens everywhere. It happens in FireFox and in Chrome (both latest versions). It sometimes happens on the desktop, on the taskbar, in the tray area, in Cygwin and in other mintty windows.
I'm pretty sure I've seen it happen in VS Code as well.
Because it happens intermittently, I cannot get a recording of my screen (either natively or with an external camera).
What has changed?
The only significant change on my system was updating to Win10 version 2004 in early August. I cannot say if the issues began immediately after the update or shortly afterwards, but I can say for certain that I have not had this issue before updating.
I have had my current monitor for over 6 years at this point, and the rest of my system was built in December 2019. The only recent hardware change was adding an additional hard drive, which should have no effect on graphics.
Aside from Windows Update, there haven't been any significant software changes on my system, but more on that later.
What I tried:

I have updated my graphics drivers, performed clean installs of graphics drivers, and tried different versions. The issue persists.
I have installed the August and September cumulative updates for Windows, hoping that they would have a fix, and the issue still persists.
The support article suggests opening task manager and seeing if the issue persists. While I have tried to do this, it is not a good troubleshooting technique for my situation, because my graphics issue occurs intermittently and is not tied to any particular program. It may happen, or not happen, in the same browser window, on the same webpage, over the course of a day. I cannot leave task manager open for hours and hope to see if my screen flickers or not.
I have tried disabling both Fences and Groupy (by Stardock Software), thinking that they may be causing interference. The issue still persists with both apps inactive.
Someone I know has encountered a similar graphics issue with Skype. However, I have not used Skype in months (since July). Skype does not run on startup or in the background (I run it manually when I need it). Further, I have not encountered this or similar issues with Skype installed before.
There is no other software I use on a regular basis that I believe would cause this issue. Having said that, I have quite a number of programs installed and using the suggested solution of "uninstalling the incompatible program" does not seem easily done or reasonable.
What I think is going on
I think version 2004 broke something with Windows Magnifier, or with the desktop window manager.
I have noticed that the Windows Magnifier has changed with v 2004 in behaviour and appearance. The UI is different, the aero peak preview is different, the magnifier control window sometimes appears when zooming completely in or out (using WIN+ESC or WIN++). This never used to happen prior to v2004.
What I need
I need help troubleshooting what is going on. Has there been change to the way Magnifier works, or the desktop is rendered in v 2004?
If not, then I need to figure out what other software on my system may be causing this issue, and why did it suddenly break with v 2004, because nothing else has changed and this is a serious impact on productivity.

Hello, etsy!
I've been figuring out over the last two weeks how to set up my Etsy shop on my business Facebook and Instagram page, so that followers can browse my products on the social media app, then be taken to Etsy to complete the purchase. From a few posts about this recently, where I asked for help, there seemed to be a large number of people who also didn't know how to set any of this up, or had tried and given up. I figured I would share some of what I learned during this process as a sort of "how to" post, since I finally got my Etsy shop all set up for Facebook and Instagram shopping. Surprisingly, Facebook doesn't have any thorough documentation about how this entire process works, they just have documentation about specific steps within the overall process, which is where a lot of my confusion stemmed from.
So, this post hopefully demystifies the process a bit and makes it seem a bit more straightforward. All in all, it took me about 2 weeks to get completely set up and approved. Step 2, below, takes the longest, and depending on your level of technological prowess and willingness for trial/error, it could take a few hours. The rest is actually pretty simple.
DISCLAIMER 1: This is specifically for those of us who are directly linking our Etsy shop to Facebook/Instagram shopping (not a catalog from our own website or Shopify, or whatever other 3rd party selling app). At the end of this whole process, your followers/shoppers will be able to browse your products on Facebook/Instagram and you will be able to tag products in your photos. Customers will then be able to complete their purchase on Etsy. Facebook has other options for checking out, like directly checking out through Facebook/Instagram, however I didn't prefer that, so I'm not covering that here.
DISCLAIMER 2: There are so many things that need to be in place and connected properly for this to work. If you run into issues while setting this up, I would highly recommend reaching out to Facebook Support directly. They were surprisingly responsive when I reached out about an issue I had while setting up my shop!
DISCLAIMER 3: If anything I say here is incorrect, kindly drop a comment or PM me and I will edit the post so others are better informed. I only went through this process once (and sorta fumbled my way through at that) so I wouldn't be surprised if this is not a perfect, all-inclusive how-to lesson!

WHAT YOU NEED:

—Facebook Business Manager Account
—Facebook Business Page
—Instagram Business Profile (only if you want to connect your Facebook shop to Instagram)
—Etsy shop
—Access to Google Sheets
—Meet the Facebook Commerce requirements
—Have your pages connected to Business Manager
—Patience (because it can be confusing!)
—A willingness to research and learn :)

STEP 1: VERIFY YOUR ETSY DOMAIN

Etsy provides super clear instructions on how to do this, so I'm just gonna drop the link here. Navigate to your domains in Facebook Business Manager by going to: Business Settings > Brand Safety > Domains, then follow Etsy's instructions.
You must verify your domain to be eligible to sell on Facebook or Instagram.

STEP 2: SET UP YOUR CATALOG

WARNING: This is the most confusing/time-intensive step, so bear with me.
Your catalog will hold all of your products.
—You can have only 1 catalog per shop.
—You can only have physical products for sale in your shop.
—You need at least 12 products to be able to sell through Facebook/Instagram.
There is not an integration between Etsy and Facebook that allows sellers to easily upload their Etsy listings to Facebook. So, you first need to create a data feed. The data feed will then be used to create your catalog and ultimately display your products on your Facebook and Instagram shops.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE/CAVEAT: All of your listing data will need to be uploaded to Facebook and maintained manually by you. Since there isn't an integration between Etsy and Facebook, when something sells on Etsy, the quantity/availability on Facebook shops will not automatically adjust like it does on Etsy. It would be your responsibility to update your data feed so that your Facebook shop is displaying your products accurately. If you have a ton of products that sell fast, setting up your Facebook/Instagram shop in this way may not be the best fit. If Facebook finds out that what is showing up in your Facebook shop is not accurate, you may become ineligible to sell on Facebook/Instagram (see the commerce requirements).
First, head to Etsy and download all of your listing data. Shop Manager > Settings > Options > Download Data. Download your "Currently For Sale Listings" and save the CSV file.
Next, set up your products in Google Sheets.
I would recommend using Google Sheets, as opposed to Excel or manually adding items to your catalog. If using Google Sheets, Facebook will automatically update your products based on what is in the Google Sheet every hour, every day, or every week—whatever you set it to. If a product sells on Etsy, you can edit the quantity in the spreadsheet and wait for Facebook to automatically update the quantity in your Facebook shop over the next hour, eliminating the need for manual reuploading your data.
Create a new Google Sheet. Go to File > Import > Upload and select the CSV you just saved. You'll need to delete most of the rows and you might need to clean up a few columns.
Since Facebook has certain data feed specifications, I created a sample Google Sheet with all the necessary columns you can use as a template. There are some additional notes about each column on the sample sheet I would advise reading. Copy row 1 of the sample sheet and place it as row 1 of your data feed sheet. Make sure the title of the column matches what the column is and adjust as needed. Be sure to keep the wording of the column titles exactly as they are in the sample sheet, otherwise your upload may have errors.
Fill out the spreadsheet completely with your data.
IMPORTANT NOTE FOR INSTAGRAM SHOPS*: If you intend to also set up your shop on Instagram, you will need to make sure the URL you are placing in your data feed matches the domain you verified earlier. Etsy listings default to display as http://www.etsy.com/listing/listingnumber, which will create errors when you go to set up your Instagram shop since the domain is etsy.com, not shopname.etsy.com. To get around this, copy/paste your listing link, then add your subdomain prefix before "etsy.com" (for example, http://www.shopname.etsy.com/listing/listingnumber) and take out any other unnecessary characters at the end of the URL string. The link formatted with your subdomain will still direct people to the correct listing.*
When finished, create your catalog: go to Facebook Business Manager > Catalog Manager > Create Catalog > Select Ecommerce > Follow the remaining prompts.
Next, upload your data feed: go to Catalog (in the Catalog Manager sidebar menu) > Data Sources > Bulk Upload > Click Google Sheets > Follow the remaining prompts.
Your products should start uploading to the catalog and if you filled out the spreadsheet correctly, your upload should be successful. If you have errors in your spreadsheet, review the error log provided by Facebook and adjust, review their troubleshooting help sheet, or use their feed debugger to identify the problem spots.

STEP 3: SET UP YOUR FACEBOOK SHOP

With your catalog successfully uploaded, you should now be able to set up your shop.
IMPORTANT: You must create your Facebook shop first, before trying to connect your shop to Instagram. Facebook will review your shop to ensure it meets all their requirements. Assuming your commerce account is approved, you should then be able to connect your shop to Instagram.
Go to Facebook Business Manager > Commerce Manager > Shops > Follow the remaining prompts. Be sure to select only your Facebook page when you get to where you'd like to connect your shop.

STEP 4: CREATE COLLECTIONS

Collections are customer facing "folders" (more or less) that hold your products. Facebook reviews your collections and all of your products prior to your shop being published to ensure they meet their commerce requirements. Upon review and approval of your collections, you will be able to publish your shop.
You can have 6-30 products in each collection and you must have at least two collections to publish your shop. After you create your collections, you can add them to your shop in the Shop Editor.
The review process on your collections can take up to 24 hours, so this is a good time to take a break and come back later with a fresh brain.
Approval on your commerce account will come via email. Once you've been approved, you can then publish your shop to your Facebook page.

STEP 5: UPDATE YOUR FACEBOOK PAGE

After your commerce account has been approved for Facebook Shopping, you can update your Facebook page so that users can browse your items directly on Facebook.
If your Facebook page is not already set to the "Shopping" template, change that now. On your Facebook page, go to Settings > Templates & Tabs > Select Shopping. Then update your page button so that customers are taken to your Facebook shop instead of your website. [Note: I had some problems updating my button, so if you get stuck here or can't update it for whatever reason, give it a few days to work itself out.]

STEP 6: SET UP INSTAGRAM SHOPPING

The last step in all of this is setting up your shop on Instagram, if you want to.
First, disconnect your Instagram profile from your Facebook page. Do this by going to your Facebook page > Settings > Instagram > Disconnect. Do the same on your Instagram profile by going to Settings > Account > Linked Accounts > Facebook > Disconnect. For whatever reason, you need to start fresh when connecting your Facebook shop to Instagram. You will reconnect your Facebook and Instagram pages as you set up your Instagram shop.
With your accounts disconnected, on the Instagram app, go to Settings > Business > Set up Instagram Shopping > Follow the remaining prompts.
If you've made it this far and have followed these directions, everything should work, including reconnecting your Facebook page.
At the end of this process, you'll get a confirmation screen that your Instagram shop has been sent for approval. Like your Facebook shop, your Instagram shop will be approved as well, which can take up to a week. When your Instagram profile gets approved for shopping on Instagram, you'll get a Instagram notification telling you so. Customers will then be able to view your shop on your Instagram profile and you can start tagging products in your photos.

2020.09.15 17:30 itsAifa Surface Book 3 Randomly Freezing

I have a Surface Book 3 and I'm extremely annoyed because the screen/mouse just randomly freezes, usually for about 5-10 seconds then it's back to normal this happens every 1-5 mins and sometimes it happens in a row. Sometimes it will freeze and I have to hit the power button and that seems to unfreeze it. Very annoying, not to mention the screen dimming and getting bright on its own even though the option for it to do that is turned off.
I have the latest windows update, latest drivers, and I've tried the surface diagnostic tool kit twice, I also tried resetting the device twice.
I've also downloaded and installed this > https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=101315 but it seems that the problem has gotten a lot worse since I did.
I haven't noticed anything weird on my device this and it's 100% doesn't have anything to do with 3rd party apps including google chrome the only weird thing that I noticed is that every time I open the task manager I see System Inturrepts using 100% of my CPU and then it goes back to normal.
Also, I'm not sure about this but it seems that this happens more frequently when I open adobe PDF reader and chrome/youtube at the same time but I'm not sure about this I need to do more testing.
Surface Book 3 - 15 in. 512GB i7 32GB with GeForce Windows Home - version 2004.
Unfortunately, I can't return the device or I would've already done that.

Hi,
I'm trying to understand the importer fully and want to get to an approach with least manual actions.
Do to so, I have some questions, which are still unanswered.
specific scripts:
  1. where have to be the scripts be located to use them in "specifics":
  2. what language has to used for these scrips?
  3. when is a script applied, at each row, before or after import etc.?
I ask as the CSV of PostFinance comes with a multi-line header and footer

As the importer would be updated to deal with this (CSV Import support Multi-line header · Issue #2735 · firefly-iii/firefly-iii), would it be possible to run a script to check if the first field of a row is a date? If so the row would be ignored/deleted in ff3.
In addition, I would like to do a string operation on the description as it contains too much clutter. Instead, I would put the text in a note and extract only a substring based on some e.g position x to position y is numeric. This cannot be solved using rules.

mapping tags, categories etc. :
How can I map tag etc. the example given in https://firefly-iii.gitbook.io/firefly-iii-csv-importehelp/json and https://firefly-iii.gitbook.io/firefly-iii-csv-importeimporting-data/map show only account mapping? This GH issue is related to it https://github.com/firefly-iii/firefly-iii/issues/3480.
Does FF3 map according to the role, means if column 3 is defined as tag, the mapping will happen in tags? To map a tag I have to do:

role description & colum mapping:
  1. It looks like that in previous versions, the maximum number of columns had to be defined. Now, FF3 starts from the first field to last empty field where it stops, correctly?
  2. The roles mentioned in https://firefly-iii.gitbook.io/firefly-iii-csv-importeimporting-data/roles are all available roles, aren't they? I asked as in e.g. https://github.com/firefly-iii/import-configurations/blob/main/ch/raiffeisen/default.json shows roles that match exactly in spelling.
  3. how can link the expression in the JSON with the expression used in FF3 web interface? I ask as I struggle with the details. There are two dates shown in the above mentioned csv, Buchungsdatum and Valuta. Buchungsdatum=when the transaction is processed by the bank (appears in my account statement) valuta=when the money arrives or leaves the account (Value date - Wikipedia) I guess that Buchungsdatum=Processing date (FF3)=Transaction process date(Roles)=process_date(JSON) valuta=Date(FF3)=date(Roles)=date_transaction (JSON) My best guess was to add some numbers and read the database using phpMyAdmin, hoping that fields names are the same as used in the JSON. I cannot find "date_transaction" https://i.imgur.com/IdnjPFx.png, so I gues this is not the case

2020.09.14 21:54 DuDuSmitsenmadu Recompile individual files after installation, or how to revert custom package changes if things go wrong?

I run Zoneminder 1.34.20 on Raspberry Pi 4 (4 GB) under Ubuntu 20.04 (64-bit), installed from the iconnor PPA. I need to try some changes in one or a few of the *.cpp files to fiddle around with the GPU hardware acceleration, in order to reduce the ZM CPU load. That's why I wonder:

1) Can I, effectively, compile a new version of zm_ffmpeg_camera.cpp (and only that file) after having installed Zoneminder from the PPA without affecting other parts of Zoneminder? Specifically, I will replace h264_mmal with h264_v4l2m2m, since h264_mmal is 32-bit only, to use as the H264 decoder (see row #471). (I guess not since I don't seem to have any file by that name on my system outside of the github repo.)

2-a) If I use the package build instructions here, without first uninstalling the PPA version, will all the post-installation steps such as database setup already be correct since they are inherited from the PPA setup? (And of course making the source changes prior to package creation.) I'm fine with having to redefine my monitors and losing old events and logs, but I wonder if I can skip the manual post-package-installation steps mentioned at that link.

2-b) And if it doesn't work, will re-installing from the PPA overwrite all of my custom changes, so that I don't have to reinstall Ubuntu from scratch to get it working again? A few stale files here and there won't bother me, as long as multiple gigabytes on my SD card aren't wasted.


If I get these kinds of custom changes to work, then I know I will need to re-apply my custom changes after every Zoneminder update, which I'm OK with.
If this works, then I could try to make a pull request with the code changes as well. But I'm trying to manage my expectations here regarding the amount of work.

Was watching the last video from ThisOldTony on youtube and noticed they included an addendum to the instructions for the orientation for the Y axis bearings for the MK3S kit. Instead of having a single row on top of the rod they are showing the rows at a 45% angle.

The most interesting part is below, considering I would assume that most people have assembled their printer using the original instructions.
The correct orientation: When placing bearings onto the Y-carriage, make sure that they are oriented as shown in both pictures. The tracks (rows of balls) have to be on the sides.
The incorrect orientation: Avoid placing the bearing like in the last picture! This orientation with a single row of balls in the center of the hole will later increase the wear of the smooth rod, possibly creating a groove in it.
The printed version of this manual (v3.14 and older) suggests a different approach, please follow the online version instead.

What is there to show? Not shit, that's why I made this pretty 4K desktop background instead:

On the real: I've been developing this project like 6 months now, what's up? Where's that video update I promised, showing off the Bot Builder? Is an end in sight?
Yes sort of. I back-tested 6 months of data at over 21% on a net SPY-neutral, six month span of time including 2 bear, 2 bull, 2 crab months. But that's not good enough to be sure / reliable. I had gotten so focused on keeping the project pretty and making a video update that I was putting off major, breaking changes that I needed to make. The best quant fund ever made, the Medallion fund, was once capable of roughly 60% per year consistently, but in Retard Bot's case 1.5% compounded weekly. "But I make 60% on one yolo" sure whatever, can you do it again every year, with 100% of your capital, where failure means losing everything? If you could, you'd be loading your Lambo onto your Yacht right now instead of reading this autistic shit.

The End Goal

1.5% compounded weekly average is $25K -> $57M in 10 years, securing a fairly comfortable retirement for your wife's boyfriend. It's a stupidly ambitious goal. My strategy to pull it off is actually pretty simple. If you look at charts for the best performing stocks over the past 10 years, you'll find that good companies move in the same general trajectory more often than they don't. This means the stock market moves with momentum. I developed a simple equation to conservatively predict good companies movements one week into the future by hand, and made 100%+ returns 3 weeks in a row. Doing the math took time, and I realized a computer could do much more complex math, on every stock, much more efficiently, so I developed a bot and it did 100% for 3 consecutive weeks, buying calls in a bull-market.
See the problem there? The returns were good but they were based on a biased model. The model would pick the most efficient plays on the market if it didn't take a severe downturn. But if it did, the strategy would stop working. I needed to extrapolate my strategy into a multi-model approach that could profit on momentum during all different types of market movement. And so I bought 16 years of option chain data and started studying the concept of momentum based quantitative analysis. As I spent more and more weeks thinking about it, I identified more aspects of the problem and more ways to solve it. But no matter how I might think to design algorithms to fundamentally achieve a quantitative approach, I knew that my arbitrary weights and variables and values and decisions could not possibly be the best ones.

Why Retard Bot Might Work

So I approached the problem from all angles, every conceivable way to glean reliably useful quantitative information about a stock's movement and combine it all into a single outcome of trade decisions, and every variable, every decision, every model was a fluid variable that machine learning, via the process of Evolution could randomly mutate until perfection. And in doing so, I had to fundamentally avoid any method of testing my results that could be based on a bias. For example, just because a strategy back-tests at 40% consistent yearly returns on the past 16 years of market movement doesn't mean it would do so for the next 16 years, since the market could completely end its bull-run and spend the next 16 years falling. Improbable, but for a strategy outcome that can be trusted to perform consistently, we have to assume nothing.
So that's how Retard Bot works. It assumes absolutely nothing about anything that can't be proven as a fundamental, statistical truth. It uses rigorous machine learning to develop fundamental concepts into reliable, fine tuned decision layers that make models which are controlled by a market-environment-aware Genius layer that allocates resources accordingly, and ultimately through a very complex 18 step process of iterative ML produces a top contender through the process of Evolution, avoiding all possible bias. And then it starts over and does it again, and again, continuing for eternity, recording improved models when it discovers them.

The Current Development Phase

Or... That's how it would work, in theory, if my program wasn't severely limited by the inadequate infrastructure I built it with. When I bought 16 years of data, 2TB compressed to its most efficient binary representation, I thought I could use a traditional database like MongoDB to store and load the option chains. It's way too slow. So here's where I've ended up this past week:
It was time to rip off the bandaid and rebuild some performance infrastructure (the database and decision stack) that was seriously holding me back from testing the project properly. Using MongoDB, which has to pack and unpack data up and down the 7 layer OSI model, it took an hour to test one model for one year. I need to test millions of models for 16 years, thousands of times over.
I knew how to do that, so instead of focusing on keeping things stable so I could show you guys some pretty graphs n shit, I broke down the beast and started rebuilding with a pure memory caching approach that will load the options chains thousands of times faster than MongoDB queries. And instead of running one model, one decision layer at a time on the CPU, the new GPU accelerated decision stack design will let me run hundreds of decision layers on millions of models in a handful of milliseconds. Many, many orders of magnitude better performance, and I can finally make the project as powerful as it was supposed to be.
I'm confident that with these upgrades, I'll be able to hit the goal of 60% consistent returns per year. I'll work this goddamn problem for a year if I have to. I have, in the process of trying to become an entrepreneur, planned project after project and given up half way through when it got too hard, or a partner quit, or someone else launched something better. I will not give up on this one, if it takes the rest of the year or five more.
But I don't think it'll come to that. Even with the 20% I've already achieved, if I can demonstrate that in live trading, that's already really good, so there's not really any risk of real failure at this point. But I will, regardless, finish developing the vision I have for Retard Bot and Bidrate Renaissance before I'm satisfied.

I got 3/5 Morty and Drifblim recently and was thinking about how many uses out of Phantom Force I can get.
UPDATE: Here is a link to General MPR Report that I wrote after creating this post.
TLDR: With both MPR 3 nodes you have 8.333 11.351 expected uses before you would run out. Only one MPR 3 node you have 5 expected uses.
On to the how!
For the math inclined I used a discrete Markov chain to figure this out. Reason being is that you have coupled probabilities with MP refresh. Since you could go from 2/3 uses left to 3/3 uses left (use up one, but refresh two) and reset the whole analysis.
I wrote some python code to do all that

The idea is to make a matrix where the rows represent the current state of your MP, and the columns represent the destination state. The entries represent how likely you are to experience that transition.
Phantom Force MP Transition Matrix
Where p is the probability of triggering MP refresh. Then you take this matrix to power several times and multiply in your initial state vector (which would be a row vector with 1 in the right most spot representing starting at 3/3). And you can find the probabilities. You can read the left most (representing 0/3) and read off the probability after n uses. I also used computational magic to calculate fractional powers of matrices to figure out now many fractional moves would need to happen to have a 50% probability of running out of MP uses.
In the code provided, I investigated what if Morty and Drifblim grid had an extra MPR node, and what if all the MPR nodes where MPR 2 (so 30% chance to trigger) or MPR 4 (50% chance to trigger).
Summery of that investigation (note these values are at 50% likelihood): - An extra MPR 3 would bring us to 30.28 uses before running out - The two MPRs at MPR 4 would get use to 17.6 moves - An extra MPR but all nodes at MPR 2 gets us to 10.31 moves
So an added node or increasing the MPR rate would make the MP irrelevant in most cases. Since either you would beat the stage, or Morty and Drifblim would die.
If his grid was edited to be 3 MPR nodes at MPR 2 would be interesting and not so crazy as to make the MP irrelevant, but that would also mean we would have to pick up an extra node on their grid.
Just thought I'd chime in with some numbers. I found it interesting, maybe you did too :)
Also hopefully I used the right flair, it was discussion, team building, or sync grid. \(ツ)
Some math jargen
I picked 50% as the benchmark since I currently don't know how to find the expectation value of a stochastic process. I'll update the post if I get to learning about it, or if someone else knows that would be cool too!
At 50% likelihoods, you find that half the time you run out of moves at the whatever value (or sooner), then the other half the time you would have more move uses. I thought that this is a good situation to consider, since as a player experiencing it, you would try to relate the experience to other runs.
Further more I could of investigated MPRs with different trigger rates (like a grid having an MPR 4, MPR 3, and an MPR 2). But it would complicate the code more (but totally doable). Also DeNA hasn't done that in the past, so I didnt bother.
UPDATE: From looking into the true expectation values I was able to make this table. Which was done by looking at this wiki page about absorbing Markov chain.

Hello people who don't like Epic. I have returned with another big project I've decided to work on. So time for a little backstory. So I looked at the FuckEpic for dummies post by socialjeebus. Alright I guess I'm finally done. Took me about 5 days to make this thing and I had to take it down after thinking it was good to post only to find that the tables were not formatting like I wanted to. Anyways I will update this as time goes on and repost it after reddit archives it after 6 months and I'll try to do that until I just get tired of it and decide to stop. 1.6.0: The Masked Launcher
More then 2 years after the 1.5.0 release and a year after 1.5.4, we present rofi 1.6.0. This release is again focusses bug-fixing and improving the experience for themers and script developers. The script mode has been extended with many small requested tweaks to get it more on par with dmenu mode. For themers the listview has been made more flexible, allowing more fancy themes, for examples mimicking Gnomes application launcher or albert.
Big thanks to SardemFF7 and all the other contributors, without their support and contributions this release would not have been possible.

Script mode

Rofi now communicates some information back to the script using environment variables. The most important one, is ROFI_RETV, this is equal to the return value in dmenu mode. It can have the following values:
  • 0: Initial call of script.
  • 1: Selected an entry.
  • 2: Selected a custom entry.
  • 10-28: Custom keybinding 1-19
To fully read up on all features of script mode, there is now a rofi-script(5) manpage.
Some of the new features are:
  • Search invisible text
  • Pass extra information back on selection
  • Support for a custom delimiter
  • Support for dmenus no-custom option
  • Detect if launched from rofi

Theme

There have been a set of tweaks to the theme format, making it more flexible and hopefully more themer-friendly.

Listview flexibility

This is one of the biggest change, instead of the listview having a hacked textbox as elements. It now re-uses existing widgets like box, icon and textbox. This way you can re-structure how it looks. For example put the icon above the text.

This causes a breaking change for themes, to modify the highlighting, this should be set to element-text. Or inherited. element-text { highlight: inherit; }.
If you override the build in theme, you might want to set icon size:

Calculation support in theme format.

Rofi adds CSS like calculations in the CSS format for distances. You can now set the width of the window to the screen width minus a 10 pixels.
window { width: calc(100% - 10px); } 
It supports: -, +, /, * and % operators and they should be surrounded by whitespace.

Initial media support

This is a very initial implementation of CSS like @media support. This allows you to modify the theme based on screen size or ratio.
We currently support: minimum width, minimum height, maximum width, maximum height, monitor id, minimum acpect ratio or maximum acpect ratio.
For example, go to fullscreen mode on screens smaller then full HD:

I'm having some difficulty updating a certain binding.
I have a class DeviceList that loads some devices, it inherits from ObservableCollection and is listed as a resource in my XAML:
 
Then, I have a CollectionViewSource that uses this devicelist as source, and groups it by a property from the Device:
     
A Datagrid binding to this CVS, which has a group header style:
           bla bla   
And then finally the Group Header style in the resources:
 
As you can see, there's a Border there that binds to "Items". This is a property of "CollectionViewGroup": https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.windows.data.collectionviewgroup?view=netcore-3.1
Basically each of my devices has a property "Connection", and when this property changes, I would like to set the color of this border in the corresponding group header.
The binding works fine the first time, but after that the DeviceGroupToColorConverter isn't called anymore when a connection changes. Device implements INotifyPropertyChanged, but I have no idea how to propagate that event to CollectionViewGroup's Items property. In fact, I have no idea where CollectionViewGroup instances live. I only have access to the CollectionViewSource.
I would like to avoid refreshing the entire DataGrid. I've read that it resets my expanders and also, why refresh the entire datagrid when only a certain group's header should change?

In this article, I would like to tell you about Cloud DB, which online storage that Huawei offers to developers.

What is Cloud DB ?

Although Cloud DB is still in beta version, it is a successful and seamless database structure. In addition to the ease of use, attracts developers with its management and a user-friendly interface. In addition to providing data availability, consistency and security, CloudDB provides seamless data synchronization between the device and the cloud.
If you do not have a server when developing applications, Cloud DB server easily solves our data storage, maintenance and distribution. Also CloudDB is free.
Cloud DB provides 500 GB of data volume for each application, and supports 2000 connections. Looking at their counterparts, it is understood how large and how important these numbers are.

Cloud DB Structure

Object Type: It represents each table in the standard database. In other words, each table containing data and columns is called Object Type.
Cloud DB Zone : Represents the data zone on the cloud side. According to the classic database, Cloud DB Zone is the name of the database or schema name.
Data Entires : It is the area that shows the added data. Here, you can add, update and delete data. When you add data, you will realize that the tables you are used to are in the same way. And while using this technology, it prevents you from suffering from strangeness.

How To Using Cloud DB ?
Now let’s see how to use Cloud DB. Since Cloud DB is still in beta, you have to send a mail to activate this service in your app. To use Cloud DB, you need to create an app after creating your Huawei Developer account. After completing all the necessary steps, you have to request the activation of the service by sending an e-mail to [email protected] with the sample header below. The service will be activated within 1–3 business days after your mail arrives. And you can start using it freely.
Cloud DB –Company Name — Developer ID — App ID
After your service activated, log in to AppGallery Connect and select your app under the heading “My Apps”. You can then access the “Cloud DB” panel under the “Build” tab from the menu on the left side of the page, by moving to the “Develop” tab in the upper left. After the page is loaded, activate the service by clicking the “Enable Now” button in the upper right corner.
A Cloud DB Zone must first be created. After then object types should be created. When creating the object type, column names must be entered and the primary key must be identified in the window that opens. Also, at this step, you can edit access control options for the object type. In the image of the below you can find, which users have which permissions should be given. After creating DB Zone and Object Type, Cloud DB provides to export data models and Helper class as JSON or Java for use them in the app without wasting time. After exporting the model classes as Java, you have to add these classes to the relevant directory of the app and start communicate with Cloud DB.

Cloud DB library should be added to the build.gradle file under the project’s app directory and the compatibility mode of the Java source code should be set as 1.8. For this, the following codes should be added to the gradle file and wait downloading the necessary dependencies by click Sync Now.

Let’s create a class named CloudDBZoneWrapper for all database operations. By defining all the upsert, query operations in this class, call these methods in the activity/fragment to be used. Thanks to this metods you can coding your app without clutter.
Firstly, Cloud DB objects should created to be used in this class.

After then create an instance from the AGConnectCloudDB object in a constructor method.

Now, the necessary methods for upsert and query operations should be written. But first, a few callbacks have to be added to get the results of these actions to the activities and fragments where the actions are operated. In this way, all DB operations will be gathered in a single class, without the activity being too tired and without crowd of code.

Now the necessary method for upsert operation should be written. Upsert contains both insert and update operations. If upsert with a certain ID, the data in the related line will update. If it is upsert by new ID, a new line will added. So, both insert and update are carried out with the same method.
First, it should be checked whether DBZone is created or not. If DBZone has an error, will not upsert data. Then, upsert with CloudDBZoneTask object. Since I will add data to the User table, I gave the user object as a parameter to this method. If you need to add data to other tables, you should create a new method and give the object of the related table as a parameter. When upsert operation complated , if upsert is successful, it must return true, if occured an error, return false. For this, at the beginning of the method, a variable named Boolean state was defined and its first value was set as false. Then, if upsert is successful, state is set to true, and if error occurs, method will return false.

Now, let’s make a query in the this class. For this, I will get the list of users which I added to the database with the same model class. Two methods are required when making query request. The first is the getAllUsers method for DB operations, and the other is called userListResult method, for add data to array. Firstly, CloudDBZone control should be done in getAllUsers method. Now let’s make an upsert. As I writed before, Upsert includes update and insert operations. Both operations are uses the same method. If you want to update a row of data, you must post with the ID information of the data in that row. If a new data is to be added, it should be posted with a new ID.
At this point, Cloud DB has a lack. Unfortunately, the auto increment don’t have when creating the object type. In other words, ID value does not increase automatically when data is added. It has to be given manually. I solved this problem by getting the last ID in the table and increasing it.
Now, create a method called updateUser to update and send back the user information I have previously got in this fragment. Next, a new user object should created here and the values ​​should set. If there is an not to be changed data (as in the example, age and gender ), old values ​​must be set in them. Finally, make post request by calling the insertUser method created in the CloudDBZoneWrapper class.

For authentication, Auth Service offered by Huawei to developers should be used. A service that is very easy to use. You can find the Auth Service link on the below. After the authentication, your upsert will work. If authentication is not done, the result of upsert will return false.

With only days separating us from the 88th running of the 24 Heures du Mans, it's time again for the Le Mans Primer thread! This is the place if you’ve got any questions about the 2020 Le Mans event, no matter how small! There are no dumb questions about Le Mans!

The Race

The 24 Heures du Mans brings up its 88th edition this year, and is the holy grail of endurance motor racing. After its first running in 1923, the course and cars have evolved to become the premier event in the World Endurance Championship, and the event is recognised as the most prestigious test for innovations in motorsport technology. Technologies such as disk and air brakes, streamlined bodywork, and a variety of engine configurations were trialled and tested at the 24 hours of Le Mans. The Mazda 787b (oh god listen to that sound!) was the first, and so far only car to win running a Wankel Rotary engine, winning in 1991. Audi brought diesel engines their first success in 2006 with the R10 TDI, and then brought Hybrid technology to victory for the first time in 2012 with the R18 e-tron Quattro.
For the first time in over 50 years, the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be held in September, instead of it's normal third-weekend-in-June date. This will mean more night time running, potentially more inclement weather, and a spectacle unlike any other Le Mans event!
This years edition also marks a significant first, and a significant farewell for the 24 Hours of Le Mans Event. Firstly, this year is the first year of the new Hyperpole qualifying format. In this format, all classes are permitted to use the track in the 45 minute qualifying session on Thursday evening. The top 6 cars from each of the 4 classes then progress to the Hyperpole session on Friday morning, which sets the top of the grid for each class. This means that each class will be segregated on the final grid.
Secondly, with the introduction of the LMH regulations starting next year, this is the last edition featuring LMP1 as the top class at Le Mans. The LMP moniker has been used at Le Mans since 1996, where it was used to describe purpose built race machines as opposed to the homologated LMGT1 class, which were based on road-going machinery.

The Track

The Circuit de la Sarthe covers 13.6 kilometres of the French country side. It combines the permanent race components of the Ford Chicanes, the pit straight, under the Dunlop Bridge and through to Tertre Rouge as well as the normal everyday roads of the Mulsanne straight through to Indianapolis and Arnage. The track has gone through many iterations over the years; originally, the cars raced into the heart of the city, turning just before the river Sarthe, before hurtling down the 8.6 kilometre straight. In 1932, the circuit removed the journey into the city, and more closely resembled the track we see today. Here’s a video of Mike Hawthorn touring the circuit with a camera and microphone attached in 1956, one year after his involvement in the Le Mans disaster. The addition of the Porsche Curves and the Ford Chicanes in 1972 added an extra dimension to the high speed, fast flowing track. In the late 80’s, the Group C prototype cars would reach over 400km/h, achieving average speeds of almost 250km/h in qualifying for the entire lap. This is an onboard of Derek Bell’s Porsche 956 in 1983, showing the ridiculous speeds on this configuration of the circuit. This configuration remained relatively unchanged right up to 1990, until FIA mandations required that for the circuit to be sanctioned, it must not have a straight longer than 2km. The 6km Mulsanne straight was cut down into three relatively equal length portions by two chicanes, giving the iteration of the circuit used today. Allan McNish takes you on an onboard lap of the current circuit in this video. McNish is one of the gods of the modern prototype era, winning Le Mans 3 times; once with Porsche and twice with Audi. For a more comprehensive focus on the track, John Hindhaugh’s track walk takes you on a 30 minute exploration of the track, with in depth focus on corners like the Dunlop Esses, Tertre Rouge, Mulsanne Corner, and the Ford Chicanes.

The Dunlop Bridge
The iconic Dunlop Bridge has been a part of the Le Mans track since 1932, making it the oldest Dunlop Bridge at any track. This part of the track requires a good launch out of the first chicane before cresting the brow of the hill, and plunging through the esses out onto the Mulsanne straight. As the LMP cars are much more maneuverable, caution must be taken passing the slower GT traffic, as Allan McNish discovered in 2011.
Tertre Rouge
Tertre Rouge is the corner that launches the cars onto the long Mulsanne straight. Maintaining momentum through this corner as it opens on exit is imperative to ensure maximum straight line speed heading down the first part of the Mulsanne. The undulation in the road makes for fantastic viewing at night, with some magic images of the Porsches throwing up sparks on the exit in 2014. Finally, this was the location of Allan Simonsen’s fatal crash in mixed conditions in the 2013 Le Mans. The Danish flags will fly at the corner in his memory.
Mulsanne Corner
After the incredibly long Mulsanne straight, the Mulsanne corner nowadays features a subtle right hand kink before the tight 90 degree turn. Here, the cars decelerate from 340 km/h down to below 100 km/h, resulting in a brilliant opportunity to overtake. Again, care must be taken overtaking slower traffic; unaware drivers have caught out faster cars attempting to pass through the kink, such as Anthony Davidson’s spectacular crash in 2012 resulting in a broken vertebra for Davidson.
Indianapolis and Arnage
The Indanapolis and Arnage complex is one of the most committed areas of the track. Hurtling down the hill from the Mulsanne Corner, the road suddenly bends to the right, a corner which only the bravest prototype drivers take flat out, followed by a beautifully cambered open left hander taken in third gear. A short sprint leads the cars into Arnage, the slowest point on the track. The tight right hander was the scene of heartbreak for Toyota in 2014 when the leading #7 broke down and had to be retired after an FIA sensor melted and shut off the electronics. Kazuki Nakajiima was unable to make it to the pits, leaving him stranded on the circuit.
The Porsche Curves
High speed and with barely any run off, the Porsche Curves is the most committed part of the lap. Getting caught behind GT traffic in this section can mean losing phenomenal amounts of time. This was the site of Loic Duval’s horrific crash in practice for the 2014 event. Keeping momentum through the flowing right-left-right handers that lead into Maison Blanche requires 100% commitment and ultimate precision, with severe punishment for getting it wrong.
The Ford Chicanes
The final chapter in the 13.6km rollercoaster that is Le Mans is the Ford Chicanes. Two tight left-right handers with massive kerbs are all that separates the driver from the finish line. Watching the cars bounce over the kerbs in beautiful slow motion is certainly something to behold, but 24 hours of mistreatment can lead to suspension and steering issues. The drivers have to be attentive until the very end, lest they throw it all away in the last minutes of the race. This year, it’s expected that the LMP1 teams will have to flawlessly navigate the circuit almost 400 times during the 24 hours of racing.

The Classes

The WEC consists of four classes on track at once, resulting in four separate races on track each in their own battle for 24 Hours. The classes are split by car type into Prototype and GT, and then further into Pro and Amateur. Each class has it's own set of regulations, driver requirements, and relevance for the Le Mans event

LMP1 is the top class of Sportscars, and features the fastest prototype closed top race cars. The cars rival F1 cars in terms of performance and lap times, and are capable of lapping the Le Mans circuit in around 3:20. The cars in this class are built specifically for endurance racing, and are limited by both instantaneous and average fuel flow, to put the focus of the class onto development of efficiency. This year, Toyota is the only OEM manufacturer, with 3 privateer teams bringing along three different chassis to take a shot at the overall victory. As Toyota's car is a hybrid, and the privateer cars are not, the different types of car have to be balanced by a process called "Equivalence of Technology", or EoT. For more information on how EoT is calculated and applied, check out this article on the Le Mans website For those who have followed the WEC all season, it is important to note that the Success Handicap that has been applied throughout the season will not be applied at Le Mans. Thus, we will see the full unshackled ability of the cars in LMP1 for the 24 Hours!

The second prototype class is LMP2, and provides an excellent platform for endurance racing on a budget. The LMP2 class features a spec drivetrain and gearbox, using a Gibson V8 producing 600hp, and a selection of three chassis to choose from (well four really but we don't talk about Riley). This ensures that the competition in the class is very tight, and often comes down to the drivers and the teams performance instead of just having the best car. The LMP2 category is only just a step down from LMP1, with rivalling top speeds, and can lap in around 3:30.
LMP2 is the first class that must feature amateur rated drivers. The Amateurs must drive for a minimum of 6 hours in the car over the course of the race. This means that there's an element of strategy of when to use your amateur driver throughout the race, as the amateur driver is generally slower than the Pros. The pro drivers in this class range from up and coming talent, former F1 drivers, and some of the best sportscar pilots in the world, and with 24 cars in this class, LMP2 is sure to be a hotbed of action over the 24 hours.

GT class cars are cars that are derived from production models, and feature some of the most iconic cars and brands battling it out at the top of the field. The GTE cars are on the border of aero dependency, and can lap Le Mans in around 3:50
This year, the GTE-Pro entry has been hit significantly by the developments of the Covid-19 situation. Factory backed teams from America, including the Corvette C8.R and the Core-run Porsche GTLM program, have been unable to make the trip, resulting in a three-way tussle between Porsche, Ferrari, and Aston Martin for this year's event. The GTE-Pro class features all-pro line ups, resulting in some of the best drivers in the world racing in some of the most prestigious hardware that racing has to offer.
The GT classes feature a range of different cars and configurations, and to equalise each of these against each other, the class goes through a process called 'Balance of Performance' or BoP. The organisers can adjust each individual car's weight, fuel tank, air restrictor, turbo boost pressures, and aero performance to alter performance levels to enable the different cars to race competitively. This can sometimes be contentious as every team will feel hard done by, but it is a necessary evil to having the variety of cars on the grid.

Like GTE-Pro, GTE-Am features the same GT cars derived from production models. There are two major differences between GTE-Pro and GTE-Am. Firstly, as the name implies, GTE-Am must feature two amateur drivers per car; one rated Silver and the other rated Bronze. Additionally, the specifications of GTE-Am cars are a season behind the GTE-Pro category. While this had a major affect last year, this year all teams have been able to upgrade to the most recent spec machinery released by the manufacturer teams.
With two amateur drivers, all of a sudden the strategy considerations multiply. Additionally, the variety of Pro drivers in this class range from ex-F1 talent to brand new drivers to the Endurance Sportscar scene. While GTE-Am might be the class focussed on the least over the course of the race, the stories that come from this class are phenomenal, and it's well worth following.

The Legends

Part of the allure of the Le Mans 24 Hours is the history, and the legends steeped in history over the course of it's 85 previous editions. The race has had many headline battles in it's history - periods of time where two or three teams went toe to toe for years, with the drivers, cars, and brands embroiled in these battles given the chance to elevate themselves above the rest, and show their prowess.

This year, we've invited you to celebrate some of the Privateer teams that have made this event special. So far we've featured ByKolles, Pescarolo, and Joest, with another one still to come!
The early races were dominated by the Bentley company in their Speed 6, who won 5 of the first 7 races. Cars were separated into classes by their engine displacement, and the overall winner was based on distance covered. If two cars had finished with the same number of laps, the car with the smaller displacement was declared the winner. The race wasn't run during the second world war, and comparatively very little information is available on the stories of the early days of Le Mans.
After the second world war, teams such as Jaguar, Ferrari, Mercedes, and Aston Martin became the dominant teams. This era featured the legendary Jaguar D type, the Mercedes Benz 300 SLR, the Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, and the Aston Martin DBR1. Jaguar won 5 times between 1951 and 1957, followed by an era of Ferrari dominance. Drivers such as Mike Hawthorn, Stirling Moss, Juan Manuel Fangio, and John Fitch became household names as Le Mans became a battle between German engineering and British "garagistas".
Ferrari and Ford was the story of the 60's, with Ferrari winning 6 times straight before Ford won four in a row with the GT40 Mk II, taking their first win in 1966. The story of their rivalry is legendary in it's own right - Henry Ford had almost successfully bought out the Ferrari motor company, only to be knocked back by Enzo himself at the 11th hour. In retaliation, Ford planned to hurt Ferrari where it mattered most; on the track. The Ford GT40 was so comprehensively dominant that it won the 1966 edition 21 laps ahead of the next car back - a Porsche 906/6. None of the Ferrari 330P3's finished the race. This battle gave drivers like Bruce Mclaren, Dan Gurney, and Jacky Ickx their first Le Mans victories, and propelled them to the forefront of motorsport stardom at the height of motorsport's popularity.
The 1970's saw the dawn of Porsche, with the 917k taking the brand's first win in 1970, with the same car winning the following year in the hands of Helmut Marko (yes, that Helmut Marko). It would be 5 years before Porsche would win again, with Maatra taking 3 victories in the interim, each at the hands of Henri Pescarolo. Porsche returned with the 936 and the 956/962c dominating the race for the next 20 years. In fact, from 1970, Porsche won 12 times in 18 events, including 7 in a row, and they miiight have been a bit cheeky about it. Amongst these 12 wins, there were 4 for both Jacky Ickx and Derek Bell, and two for IMSA legend Hurley Haywood, as well as the first win for the Joest team in 1984. This era coincided with the introduction, and subsequent destruction of the Group C sportscar formula, widely regarded as the best Sportscar championship regulations of all time. Porsche’s dominance was eventually ended by Jaguar in the XJR-9LM, at the height of Group C’s magic. Ickx's 6 wins at this stage had earned him the nickname 'Mister Le Mans', a fitting title for one of the best drivers in the world at the time.
GT cars became a force to be reckoned with at the end of the Group C era, with classes being split into LMGTP and LMP. McLaren and Porsche had wins in GTP cars, in the F1 GTR and the 911 GT1 respectively, while Porsche, BMW and Peugeot scored LMP wins. 1997 saw the first win for Tom Kristensen, while the following year Allan McNish took his first victory, starting their journeys into the legend books of Le Mans.
The 2000’s ushered in the era of Audi, with all 13 of their wins coming since the turn of the century. GTP was disbanded due to safety issues, being replaced by GT1 and GT2. Audi picked up wins in the R8, the R10, the R15, and the R18, often dominating the might of the Peugeot 908. Audi's dominance elevated not only their drivers to legend status, but also their team managers, car designers, and race engineers. People like Reinhold Joest (team manager), Dr Wolfgang Ullrich (Audisport director), Ulrich Baretzky (engine designer), Leena Gade, Howden Haynes (race engineers) behind the wall and Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen, Rinaldo Capello, Marcel Fassler, Andre Lotterer and Benoit Treluyer have become household names in the sport not only for their wins, but their longevity and domination. Audi's dominance was only broken by a win for Bentley in 2003, running basically an Audi under a British racing green skin, and Peugeot in 2009, before being ended for good by Porsche in 2015.
Between 2015 and 2017, Porsche added to their victories, now holding a record 19 overall victories at the Circuit de la Sarthe. Audi trail with 13, with Ferrari, Jaguar and Bentley holding the next three positions. Toyota finally took their first overall victory in 2018, and backed it up with another last year. Tom Kristensen is has the most victories at Le Mans, with 9 overall victories over his career with Porsche, Audi and Bentley, inheriting the title of Mr Le Mans.

Additionally, replays of the event are free after the event. Official comms headed by Martin Haven, Allan McNish and Graham Goodwin, who in my personal opinion properly nail the tone of the event. Has been known to get overloaded and crash however
  • Eurosport will be broadcasting the full Le Mans event, including Practice, all Qualifying sessions, Warm Up, and the Race, in most markets with local commentary. Note - In the past, there have been complaints levelled at the tone of the English comms, and bias in commentary in various regions. Luckily, Eurosport does provide a commentary free feed too! Check your local broadcaster for times/streaming
  • Radio Le Mans will be streaming live radio for every session
For American audiences, unfortunately the Official stream is geoblocked for your area. You can catch the race on Motortrend and on the Discovery Velocity channel

First of all, I want to clarify that it is only a theory in which i am taking into account the things that happened and are happening these days...
I want to start with Seraphine, Seraphine will be a champion in the world of LoL, possibly released on October 31, in the Worlds grand final, I think that is going to be in this way because the new K/DA song, in which, Seraphine will be featuring. This song will be presented in this event, we have the IG post and the Twit in the official account of Sera and in the K/DA account too confirming this collab, and why this will be in the worlds? Because, in the new comic of K/DA, Seraphine says "It's exciting, and a little overwhelming. And I can't even begin to think about Shangai." The Worlds will be on Shangai... so... why Seraphine is connected with WR? Because, in June, in the Brazilian alpha, fragments of the skills of Seraphine were found in the game's files, but, back then, like the twit says, nothing was known about her, so... a champion, thought to be released at the end of October, has been in the game files of WR since June, and nowadays there arent data about her in LoL (neither in the PBE)... It is like weird and strange, and Riot doesn't do things like that without reason, so, I think, we can talk about the official release (or at least a beta) of the WR in the Worlds final along with the K/DA new song ft Seraphine, and the release of her, probably in both, LoL and WR.
And the beta? Probably, we may have one before the game launch, so... when?
I think probably this month, because, days ago, some links were leaked about a supposed testing phase, this links are legit, because they have the play.google.com (but, isn't verified if these links give you access or not), back in time, the same happened before the alpha, and these days some devs were more inactive than normal, this also be due to the hard work that they are doing, so.., if we have beta in the middle or at the end of the month, the times would be fair enough for released WR at the World's final.
In addition, I created a post a few days ago of that the game had been updated for the third consecutive time, in three days in a row, and it was removed by the moderators... but yeah, the game was updated three days in a row in Google Play.
This theory will get stronger or fall down depending if we have official news about the game in the next few weeks. These are all theories, except that Serphine will collaborate with K/DA, everything else is leaks or theories, nothing official.
